Nikola Jokic- 9 months and 39 weeks pregnant

3:00am,

Nikola was watching TV in his room when he got up and started having strong cramps on his belly. Nemanja was in the living room cleaning when he heard his brother screaming in pain. He goes to his brother Strahinja's room and saw him crying. Strahinja opens the door.

Strahinja Jokic: Nikola? Nikola? šta se dešava? (Nikola? Nikola? what's going on?)

Nikola Jokic: Strahinja, imam trudove! (Strahinja, I'm having contractions!)

Strahinja Jokic: O Bože! Dobro, odmah ću Nemanju. Nemanja! (Oh God! Okay, I'll Nemanja right now. Nemanja!)

Nemanja ran upstairs.

Nemanja Jokic: Zašto? Šta se desilo? (Why? what happened?)

Strahinja Jokic: Nikola ima trudove! Moramo da počnemo da pripremamo zalihe. (Nikola's having contractions! We need to start preparing the supplies.)

The two Jokic brothers prepared the supplies while Nemanja goes to the closet to get gloves on. Branislav had suggested for Nikola to walk around the block to speed up the labor. Even though it was 3 in the morning and Strahinja had to do what he can to make sure that his little brother was doing alright. Branislav Jokic, the father of the three boys woke up where Nikola was in a lot of pain and discomfort. In fact, Branislav can accompany him to walk around the block. Nikola was dressed up in his pajamas and gray shirt when he felt strong cramps on his lower belly as his father tells him to breathe.

It was around 6:30am as Nemanja puts on his gloves and checks his little brother's cervix. "You're at 3 centimeters Nikola," They were preparing the clothes of his little brother and the baby for them to wear when the baby's born. Next, he was swaying side to side placing his elbows on the bed while Strahinja is massaging him on the back. The first thing that Strahinja did was that he watched 3 seasons of 16 and pregnant which is something that he could learn from just to help his little brother give birth to a baby. When Nemanja gathered the boxes of medical gloves from his bathroom in his bedroom, Strahinja explained to him that he was watching the 3 seasons of 16 and pregnant and all he could do was to learn the basics on how he can help their little brother deliver the baby

Strahinja: Did you check his cervix for any signs of dilation and early labor?

Nemanja: Yes.

Strahinja: how far is he?

Nemanja: 3 Centimeters.

Strahinja: Okay.

3 hours passed and Nemanja checks on his cervix again.

Nemanja: He's at 5.

Strahinja: Okay, do you think we can still have him walk around or what?

Nemanja: How about we have him sit on the birthing ball?

Strahinja: Ok.

Nemanja sets up the birthing ball and Nikola starts taking deep breaths.

Nemanja: just remember to keep breathing ok?

Nikola nods.

Strahinja Jokic POV:

Nemanja and I were monitoring the progress of my little brother's labor and we have to have him sit on the birthing ball. He's been in labor for about three hours and we will do what we can to make sure he's doing alright. Anyways, I'll let anyone knows how it goes.

Nemanja Jokic POV:

This is the first time for me and Strahinja to deliver a baby since my baby brother is 9 months pregnant and was ready to pop anytime. However, it is going to be challenging because Strahinja had to go behind Nikola to press his belly to help get the baby to come out of his birth canal.

~ Time Skip to 10:00pm ~

The shower was set up by his own two older brothers as Strahinja had asked Nikola to get in and have him go on all fours to and Nemanja checks his little brother's cervix indicating that he's fully dilated. He has his gloves on. "Okay, I'll have you go on all fours just to get on your butt to see if the baby's head comes out ok?" He nodded as he was prepared to start pushing. "Okay, you can start now little brother," It started with Nikola screaming during labor. Strahinja was on the side pressing his little brother's baby bump to help get the baby to come out. "Come on little bro, Push!" Nikola holds on to Strahinja's shoulders pushing as hard as he could. "Again! Again! Push with all your will!" Nemanja instructed "OOOOOOWWWWWW! It hurts!" He shouted. "Good boy! Just like that, you're doing so well," Nemanja cheered. "Now breathe in and push!" Nikola pushed through the pressure while he was on all fours just to get the baby to come out from the back passage. "My belly hurts!" He complained as his hand was on the large bump. Nemanja kisses him on the cheek telling him that everything was going to be alright. Strahinja was still on the side to press his little brother's baby bump. "It hurts so bad Strahinja!" "I know Nikola, it's painful, but you have to do this for yourself and the baby," He nodded and then continues to push. The room was soon filled with screams and cries. "AAAAAHHHHHH! AAAAAHHHHH!" Tears were flowing on Nikola's face. "Good boy keep going! I can see the bit of the baby's head!" He praised him alongside Strahinja. He did the best thing he could just to push without tearing. "I know you want to give up Nikola, but you need to keep going," He was panting heavily as Nemanja tells him to breathe slowly, so he doesn't have a hard time. "If it hurts, just hold on to me," Strahinja whispers before Nikola demanded he'd push again. It felt like the pain had rippled through his body. "Good boy! You're doing so well, I can see the head coming out," He wails feeling the baby's head crowning.

{Crowning stage}

"I can see the head Nikola," Nemanja noticed the head was crowning from the back passage. "Just breathe, I don't want you to tear," Since it was Nikola's first baby while his ex-boyfriend wasn't supportive of him during the pregnancy and birth, he knew Nemanja and Strahinja would do anything to make sure he was safe along with the baby. "Just push slowly, so you don't tire yourself out," Nikola pushed slowly. "Owwwww! It stings so bad!" He moaned feeling the burning sensation from the baby's head emerging from the opening. "Wait! I need to check to see if the umbilical cord is wrapped around the baby's neck," Nemanja checks around to see if the cord was wrapped around the neck of the unborn child.

Thankfully there were no signs of the umbilical cord wrapping around the baby's neck. "Just a few more pushes," Nikola clings on to Strahinja and pushed through the pressure. "Alright! Her head is out! Okay, now you have to push for the shoulders," As Nikola was ready to push for the shoulders, he pushed harder screaming in pain as Nemanja pulls the baby out slowly trying not to injure the baby from the side. "Hang tight lil brother, she's coming out now!" He wails until he hears the sound of the baby crying. "There you have it Nikola! You have a baby girl," His little brother was in tears when the baby was born and letting out a tiny screech. His father filmed the birth, took the photo and sent it to their mother. Next, Nemanja and Strahinja cut the umbilical cord, took the newborn for the cleaning and weighing her before returning the baby back to its mother. "You did it! We are so proud of you!" They praised. "Thanks brothers," Nikola smiled.

45 minutes later,

Nikola was now on a robe with the baby in his arms as Nemanja gives the newborn a bath before he asks him what the name of their newborn was. "So Nikola, what was the name of your baby?" "Alexsandra Nikolina," Nikola replied. "That's so adorable, me and Strahinja are now the aunts and uncles to Alexsandra," They laughed as the parents were excited to see their granddaughter. Alexsandra was starting to wake up crying as Nikola begins singing a lullaby to her one in English and then in Serbian. The lullaby was soothing enough to make her fall asleep again. Branislav took a photo of him and the baby and sent it to his mom. His mother were very excited that Nikola is now a mother to Alexsandra Nikolina.
