The Sorting

Percy's POV

        Once we boarded the train, we found an empty compartment and set our stuff down. A few minutes later, we heard a knock. I opened the door to find a girl, about the same size as Nico, standing in front of me. "Hi, all the other compartments are full, can I join you guys?" She asked "Of course! Come on in." I said and she walked in and sat down. "I'm Willow Siddiqui, what are your names?" She asked. "I'm Percy, that's Death breath and thunder thighs." I said stifling a laugh. "PERCY!" Thalia and Nico yelled. "Uggh fine. That's Thalia and Nico. You guys are no fun." I said sticking my tongue out at them. Thalia socked me in the arm while adding a jolt of electricity to it too. "OWWW! meanie." I said giving her my best seal eyes. "Alright, alright , I'm sorry. Happy now?" She smiled and nodded. 

We talked for awhile, and later, someone else knocked on the door. "Hmm?" I asked. There was a boy in front of me on the verge of tears. He asked voice quivering, "C-can I come I-in please? My compartment kicked me out." "Sure." I said. "Do you want a hug?" He nodded. I gave him one and we both sat down."What's your name kid?" Asked Thalia. "Elijah Jones." He said. We went to get our stuff ready, change into our robes and grab candy from the cart for later. We got off the train, and when Harry saw us, he scoffed. I walked away in annoyance.

Thalia's POV

   I saw Percy walk away from Harry looking slightly annoyed so he probably got to him in some way. We were walking towards the carriages when I saw the most majestic Pegasi ever. I think Percy and Nico saw too because they had their mouths wide open gaping. "You can see them too?" I said. They nodded. "Those are Thestrals. You can only see them if you've seen death." I whipped around. "SKITTLES!?" I yelled. She nodded and I ran over to hug her. "Luna, where have you been?!" Percy asked. "Quest remember idiot? How's Annabeth and the others?" I winced and and Percy eyes glossed over. Nico stared down at his combat boots.

 I took a deep breath and said, "Their.... Dead." Luna was shocked. "Wha-what? How?" She asked shaking slightly. "There was another war. Gaia woke up, and they died defeating her." "No-no..." "I'm so sorry Luna." She started crying. We all came over and hugged her. "What are you doing with those filthy half-bloods Luna? Come to us you don't belong with them." Harry said. "Actually I do. These are my family now go away you ugly toad. You're just like Umbrige." "Hey! How dare you! I will-" "Harry forget it. They're not worth it." Ron said. Harry huffed in annoyance and they walked away. Then we got into the carriage and flew to the lake. 

We then got into the boats and floated towards Hogwarts.  Once we got there, we walked in. Everyone else had already been seated, so it was kind of awkward. We sat down and started to listen to the professors talk. "Welcome to another year of Hogwarts! If you have been here before, welcome back! I hope our year flourishes with new hope and prosperity!" Dumbledore said grinning. After that sentence I kind of zoned out. "- the prefects will escort you to your dorms after the feast and sorting. Now, Professor, will you please start the sorting?" That when they carried out a musty, dusty, and when I say crusty I'm mean CRUSTY hat. It shocked me as it started to sing.

Nico's POV

After the hat sang it's well... interesting song, the sorting started. "Acheron Vastis." Professor Mcgonagall called out. He went and sat down on the small stool and had the hat put on him. "Hmm..interesting..you would do best in... HUFFLEPUFF!" The yellow table roared with excitement and clapped as he went to sit down. 

We went through a few more people till it came to us. "Thalia Gra-" "ITS JUST THALIA." she yelled and sat on the stool "AAAAGGH! GET HER AWAY FROM MEEE! SHE'S SEEN TOO MUCH! SLYTHERIN SLYTHERIN! Screamed the hat. "Eerrm. Ok then, Nico di Angelo." I went up and sat down too as Thalia went to sit at green table. "DONT EVEN PUT ME ON HIS HEAD!! I CAN SENSE IT ALL ALREADY!! SLYTHERIN!! WHY ARE ALL OF YOU SO SCARRED!?!?" The hat yelled out. "Ok ok , calm down. Percy Jackso-" "NO! NO JUST NO! I ALREADY KNOW OF HIM! HE LITERALLY FAMOUS EVERYWHERE! IM SO SORRY FOR YOU! IM PUTTING YOU IN SLYTHERIN TO BE WITH THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY! MERLINS BEARD, IM TRAUMATIZED!" The sorting hat burst into tears and was carried out.

 "Well, after that errm... mishap, it's time for the feast. Enjoy!" Dumbledore said as food appeared at the table. We came prepared though we each pulled a vial of Greek fire and burned out food before digging in. Luckily, no one noticed. After the feast, went up to the dorms with the prefects and got ready for bed. I laid down and thought about what the sorting hat said today. How had Percy's adventures reached here? Maybe it was just the hat. I eventually fell asleep.
