By the time I'm heading out the store it's dark and I have a cart full of bags. I huff and begin putting my bags in the trunk before heading home. I made sure to get everybody an item so they won't complain about me being 'selfish'. I sped home in a rush to take a quick shower wanting to get these sweaty clothes off and sleep.

When I pull up I see my brother and his lil homeboys on the porch smoking but one caught my attention like always and I can't lie, I've been thirsting over him for some months now I just chose to stay away from him since me and Jahmir is serious now. Ignoring my thoughts I yell for them to help take the bags in the house for me. Half of them groaned but one and that was Tayvon who complied without a word.

I keep my gaze on his face as the other boys come up to the car instantly taking the bag of snacks and leaving everything else behind for my brother and Tayvon to get which I roll my eyes at. I stay behind the wheel as the bags get moved from my car to the house. Once the last bag is grabbed I finally head inside going straight to the couch and plop down next to my big cousin Kali who's on the phone.

When she notices me she immediately asks about my 'date' I ignore her until she slaps my neck causing me to answer the questions in order. "Hey Kali. The date was coo I guess, ion know fr" She rolls her eyes at my lack of enthusiasm and raises her voice a bit. "Nigga what? What you mean you guess, he ain't called you?" I'm honestly embarrassed to explain what really happened today so I opted for a little white lie.

"Nah we talked but he was acting weird so I left" Kali was silent for a while before speaking again. "...oh alright" and I left it as that. After lounging around for a while I get up and start to take the things I got for my family out of the bag starting with 3 shot glasses for me, mama, and Kali, including matching pajamas.

Then the two hoodies for Chris, a bracelet kit and phone case for Nyaire, and little snacks for the house. I leave the stuff on the table and head to my room not forgetting to lock my door and begin undressing before going to my personal bathroom and hopping in the shower. I enjoy the steaming hot water hitting my back sighing in contentment as I scrub my body clean.

Showering didn't take too long I thought as I step out the shower and into the chilly atmosphere of my room. goosebumps form on my arms and I hurry to cover myself in a towel before throwing on some underwear and a matching bralette. After getting comfortable on the mattress I turn on YouTube and put some r&b on then grab my rolling tray to roll up.

Just when I'm finished rolling I get a text from Tayvon asking me why I ain't speak to him outside like he don't know how my brother is. I ignored his message and turn the volume up on my tv. I huff as I light my blunt thinking about the situation. Ifhy by Tyler the Creator as background music. "Man I don't know why I'm worried bout' this boy when I got Mir." I say to myself out loud.

before I could answer his message I hear my door creak open causing my body to freeze up, my heart racing, and I quickly put out my blunt and try to listen for a voice already having an idea of who's at the door. I hear nothing, but my mind is racing. Why is he coming to my room? I contemplate calling his name but then I hear his deep voice that makes my heart skip another beat.

"Azuri, you in here?" It was Tayvon. I let out a heavy breath at his dumb question when I'm clear in here and stay calm even tho my heart is in my throat. "Yeah what you need?" I say trying to sound nonchalant. "Can I come in?" He asks, sounding distant. I  hesitate for a moment, not sure if I should let him in or not. But then my curiosity gets the best of me. "I mean I guess.."
