Pandora Hart

What would happen if I just started screaming until my voice went. Nobody would try and help, everybody would just move away and i'd finally have some room on this train. I'd find comfort in their reactions, some terrified, some annoyed. It would let me know that these are real people, with real emotions, not just lifeless bodies staring blankly at the floor.
It wouldn't release any frustration though, I would still be in the same place, at the same time, experiencing the same thing as everyone else.
On second thought, maybe not.

I lean forward away from the man breathing down my neck. His warm breath makes me want to cry and throw up all over his posh shoes which look like they cost more than my monthly rent. Why do rich people splurge on clothes but can't even afford toothpaste? Only god knows.
Finally, the train comes to a halt and the aggravating man from behind me pushes forward to the exit. On his way he knocks an elderly woman who in response drops her groceries. Of course my immediate reaction is to help.
"Some people are so inconsiderate, i'm so sorry" I bend down to retrieve the now bruised fruit.
"That's okay dear, some people just weren't raised correctly. Its their parents who are to blame" An accent laces her words as she places a gentle hand on my shoulder.
"Still that's not an excuse to have no manners"
She waves her hands to say it doesn't matter while I place the last apple in her knitted bag. "Thankyou dear"
"No problem and if I see him again, i'll be sure to teach him how to be polite"
and on how to brush your teeth properly.
She sends me a smile and we return to silence, our bodies rocking gently as the train begins to slow down. The conversations around us ceasing.

The lady gives me one last look and walks through the now open doors. I watch as her figure becomes smaller and her limp becomes less noticeable until the doors shut again, leaving me with nothing to pay attention to anymore. I look down the alleyway of the carriage. There are less people stood up now and the crowd retracts to the sides, trying to lean against the walls to stop the swaying.

Amidst the crowd of wall huggers, my gaze turns to a figure leant against a window. His muscular shoulders are slouched as he bends to looks outside, a concentrated expression painted on his face. The sun's rays shine through and display across his skin, highlighting his chiselled features and accentuating his dark eyes.

He looks away from the glass, and our eyes meet. His eyebrows raise and my heart begins to race at our locked gazes. His eyes were like black, no feeling or emotion could be seen behind them. Time began to slow while voices blurred into a hum around me.

A small smirk played at the corner of his lips and I smiled in return. He broke eye contact first to skim over my body, his eyes scanning over the loose fitted blue jeans and cropped white vest top and settling on my old brown uggs. His smirk seemed to broaden into a smile at my mismatch outfit, each piece made for a different season.

It was the middle of october, and the weather was in between warm and cold, making it impossible to dress appropriately.
He lifted his gaze back up to my own.
"Hi" He mouthed.
I smiled and began to reply when our eye contact was broken due to a man walking past.
My eyes followed the small man as he exited the train and the world began to play again. This was my stop.
I looked back towards the window to see no one, he was gone.

"Pandora! It's been forever!" Mila my bestfriend yelled as she got up to hug me. Many eyes darted towards us due to the loudness of the girl but she didn't care. That's one thing of many that I loved about her, she had no fear.
"I seen you yesterday" I laughed as we sat down at a small circle table in the corner.
We come here so much that we're practically family to the workers. It's a small building, nestled on a quiet street corner. It's very old, but very homely, they have a lot of regulars that keep the money in because due to the placing of the building, not a lot of people come here. They're constantly asking us to spread the word or help out so sometimes we do serve and clean a few tables but on Fridays we come here for their delicious cakes and drinks.

"Yes i know, but that's too long! I have so much to tell you" She waves over Sandra, a middle aged lady who always serves us.
"Mila, Pandora." A smile takes over her pale face "What can i get you both today?"
I order my usual while Mila takes an extreme amount of time to choose her cake of choice. While i'm waiting, my gaze turns to the walls, they are decorated with local artwork and old photographs, each picture showing more of the cafes history.

Mila's thankyou brings me back from my thoughts.
"So, first off, guess who was eyeing me up today?"
"Who?" I smile and rest my chin on my hand.
"Professor Wen!" She leans back, crossing her arms over her chest, her smile wide.
"No way!" I laugh "He's like triple your age."
Professor Wren is our english teacher, an old wrinkly man with like a million stories to tell.
"I promise you he was. I was just talking to him about my work then bam! He looked at my tits!"
"Isnt he married?" I tilt my head to the side, calling her bluff.
"So? Married men cheat all the time. Plus he never touched me so that's basically not cheating."
"Would you get with him?"
Sandra comes over and we retrieve our food with a thankyou. Mila doesn't answer my question and turns to examining her milkshake.
"Mila!" I yell, my eyes widening. "He is a married man!"
"A married man that's probably not happy if he's looking elsewhere! I mean she could be dead for all we know"
I shake my head in disapproval not before laughing hysterically.
"You're crazy"
"Crazy for some old man di-"
"No! I'm eating you bitch" I place my cookie back on the plate, my thoughts now being taken over by an old man's.. yeah.

Mila laughs and leans back once again.
"I forget you're a virgin sometimes."
"You say it like it's a bad thing" I sip on my hot chocolate, the heat burning my lip.
"It's not it's not, i know you're this sweet, sexy, innocent girl who's never felt a man's touch before."
I laugh once again.
"buuuuttt, now that we are on the topic, this could all change tomorrow." She smiles sweetly.
"how so?" I question.
"Because tomorrow there is this super cool halloween party at Dylan's apartment and it's dress up and it's going to be so much fun, and we are both going"
"And you tell me the day before? What am I going to wear?"
She flashes me a knowing grin.
"Lucky for you, I've already picked out our outfits."
