Taira Azula— the daughter of a Wano Clan leader and the pride and joy of her family. She was raised to be a traditional princess, with lessons in etiquette and proper attire, as well as traditional dance and music.
Despite the luxurious confines of the palace, a burning desire for adventure and thrill ignited within her. Determined to break free from the constraints of her royal upbringing, and the everyday hearing of "a princess doesn't fight", she sought refuge in the shadows, where an old Sensei awaited her.
Under the cover of secrecy, he imparted the ancient wisdom of the katana and the foundations of martial arts to Azula. With unwavering dedication, she would steal away each day, slipping through the palace corridors like a phantom, honing her skills with unyielding fervor. Every strike of the blade and every disciplined movement fueled her thirst for mastery, as she relentlessly pursued perfection.
However, her secret training was discovered and her Sensei was executed for breaking the law. Her parents, ashamed and fearing retaliation from the community, treated her as a disgrace and locked her in her chambers for the rest of her youth.
Years later Azula found the courage to flee the kingdom. She snuck out in the middle of the night, stealing her father's old sailing ship and sailing off into the open sea. She didn't know where she was going or what she would find, but she was determined to find a new life for herself, away from her family and the past that haunted her.
Destiny led Azula to the shores of Shell Island, where she found solace in a close-knit community unaware of her true identity. Taking on a new name —Yu Azula— she immersed herself in the vibrant island life and took up the role of a bartender, carefully concealing her remarkable skills and the scars that marked her past. Despite the joys and freedoms of her new life, she never forgot her past, and the scars of her childhood still burn deep within her heart.
