Eugene: He'll Show You The Lights [EDITED VERSION]

You and Eugene are sitting in a boat about to let your lanterns fly off together. Eugene makes eye contact with you and smiles. You can feel happiness shining through every pore of your being when he finally speaks.

"Your eyes shine brighter and more beautiful than the lanterns tonight. My heart is like a lantern waiting for its fire to lift it, and you are the fire to my lantern, Y/N," he says as he leans over to kiss your cheek. You watch as your lanterns dance together along the water line until a slight breeze finally whisks them further into the air.

"Y/N, I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I realized without you I'm just a flame with no oxygen." He gets on one knee and opens a box holding the most gorgeous ring that resembles the sun. "Will you make a promise? To always stand by my side," he pauses briefly," I feel as if I cannot live without you, just as fire needs oxygen to burn, I need you to live." 

You can feel tears beginning to brim as he just said everything you've waiting for him to say. You can't help yourself as you pull him into a hug, wrapping your arms around his broad shoulders. 

"I love you too, Eugene," you whisper out as you look lovingly into his eyes. You bring his mouth closer to your and give him a kiss. 

Your kiss deepens and you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer until your bodies are flush against each other.
