"How the hell are you here? You were dead, we buried you!" Asia did not miss her.

"God, immortality does not suit you well Bella. Your voice got even more scratchy, ugh." Asia scoffs, leaning deeper into Kol's embrace.

He gives a chuckle, it rumbles his chest and Asia feels it deep into her bones; now this, she definitely missed.

"There's no need for insults, Lucifer." Carlisle comments, sensing the rising tension between the two immortal women.

Asia shakes her head, "there's always a need for insults when you're a-"

"Okay! We get it."

"Do you?"

Lucifer looks down at Edward. Almost into his, well she would say soul, but he doesn't believe he has one, so let's say his, unrelenting resentment for himself. That's what she reaches within him.

She opens her mind to him for only a moment, just enough for him to hear 'so much you could have done to avoid all this chaos, and yet you're so weak, you can't even control yourself around a blood singer. Imagine what it would be like if you came across your real mate.'

A look of shame flutters across his gaze, so quickly it's gone before anyone can see it.

Anyone except Asia. She smirks in satisfaction, she knew it.

"We don't need your help, you or your night walker friends." Alistair sneers from the tree to their left.

They ignore him.

"Now, am I ever to meet the leech spawn?" Klaus frowns, slightly offended. "Not your kind, dirty-blonde. You are family, now. I don't insult family."

"You called Michael a sacrificial lamb, love."

"He is though! It's a compliment!"

Renesme, who stands closely to her parents, does not falter when Lucifer and Kol leap down from the tree branch, landing squarely in front of her. She instead pulls her shoulders back, as her mother so naively taught her, and feigns confidence.

"You have power." The young girl opens her mouth to respond, but Lucifer tuts. "Wasn't a question, don't need an answer."

Renesme steels her resolve and reaches out to place a hand on the devils face. It's hot to the touch, a burning sensation that she's never experienced before.

She almost recoils, but still attempts to push through memories she can share.

Lucifer allows it, feeling left out, not seeing all that has happened since she died.

"Oh my, you're like a real life parasite aren't you?" Bella growls, stepping forward, only to be face to face with Kol, many years her elder.

She snarls in his face, eyes blazing and teeth bared. He smirks, veins descending from his eyes and that bloodthirsty hunger clawing at his throat once again.

"Try it, newborn. I'll see to it, it's the last step you take." Lucifer smirks up at her husband from her crouched position, feeling immense pride of his threat.

Renesme removes her hand; now covered in angry red blisters. But it heals, fast enough to numb the pain.

Carlisle clears his throat, stepping into the fray. "What say you, Lucifer."

"My hounds are hungry for someone, might as well be royalty." She smirks.

Bella stands with Kate, Edward, Zaphrina, Garrett and The Devil. Kol is off collecting blood with his siblings, because although these leeches are vegan, doesn't mean he has to be.

"If you weren't holding my hand right now, I'd swear this was real." Asia rolls her eyes as she picks at her nails with a dagger, out of the circle. Bella looks confused, or constipated, one of the two.

"I don't see anything?" That answers that.

"You didn't tell me your mate was a shield." Lucifer makes eye contact with Edward at the mention of 'mate' and smiles sweetly.

"A what?"

Kate grabs the newborns hand, electricity cracking the air.

"All the ones I've met have been se different."

"Oh she's a shield alright, that should have put you on your ass." Kate laughs.

Garrett snorts, eyeing his mate skeptically. "Or perhaps your power is exaggerated."

She holds her hand out to him and Lucifer whistles. "Voluntary torture, don't see that every day."

He screams out and crumples to the forest floor, she lets go.

"You are an amazing woman."

Kol appears behind Lucifer as the group turns to discussing how Bella may be able to project her shield unto others.

"What did we miss, my love?" She smiles, a genuine smile at him.

"Kate's going to electrocute Edweirdo and I've got front row seats!" Edward glares at her. She sticks her tongue out. "All we need is popcorn!"

She claps her hands childishly and a bag appears in each of the hands of the Original Family. Elijah grimaces and offers his away to Rebekah, who takes it greedily.

"You don't like popcorn?" Lucifer tilts her head, genuinely curious.

"Not particularly no, I'm fonder to sweet things." Lucifer hums in response, wiggling her fingers and calling forth a bag of cookies for him instead.

Kol leans down to whisper in her ear, "I'm not particularly hungry for popcorn either." She smirks but whacks his shoulder, it's clear her meaning is later.

Eventually, Bella's shield works, and Edward becomes immune to the pain presented by the electric vampire.

"How useful." Klaus muses, smirk widening as he takes in the scene before him.

"Only for the cheating tactics."
