"So how are you going to repair your relationship?" Rory asked Logan. She sipped her cup of tea, the British-style tea that Logan had brought back from London.

"It's simple. I'm not going to," Logan replied matter-of-factly. "I can't continue on like everything's fine and dandy with her after finding out that she's been in her mansion all along, hiding behind the curtains and doing something that is morally wrong."

"You care about morals?" Rory raised. The last time she checked, Logan didn't emphasize morals a whole lot.

Logan disregarded Rory's question for a bit, then reached the topic. "Lena's been an amazing girl, and she has been my supporter ever since I became friends with her. Her support for me expanded when she became my girlfriend. And I loved her. I loved how she was always there to give me a hand, to give me "good night" calls when she was distant, or to give me "good night" kisses when she was right here with me. She seemed like the type I wanted to marry. I didn't care about morals. I cared that she was with me and that she showed that she loved me too. I cared a whole lot about her and wanted to forget about you and Honor's friends. Ever since I broke it off with you and slept with my sister's friends, I was craving for some kind of relationship with no regrets. But now that I realize what has gone horribly wrong, I need a break. And that break is you."

Rory was stunned. She didn't know what to say, let alone where to start. "M-me?"

"Yes, you," Logan said. "I'm sorry if that kiss the other day shocked you. I actually knew about this. I just pretended. You know, I played the dumb game. I'm sorry. I didn't want to tell you and hurt your feelings...I thought maybe you'd solve it on your own after finding out eventually."

"Is that why you told me not to answer Ashton's call?" Rory asked. She had to get to the bottom of this, like she was the detective in a mystery book she liked. She imagined she was Nancy Drew.

"Yes," Logan said. He looked down, avoiding Rory's eyes. "I'm ashamed now."

"You did it for a good reason," Rory replied, emphatically expressing her true feelings. She felt for Logan's hand and grasped it. Logan squeezed Rory's warm hand tight. Rory smiled.

"Wow. It's been so long since we did this," Logan observed. Then, in a lower voice, he said, "I missed you. I mean it."

"I missed you too. Your appearance in Chicago was kind of a miracle for me. That sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Ashton...he was my way of erasing you from my past. I thought that if I married him, you would be gone completely. But this happened," Rory sheepishly admitted. She felt a surge of hope, remembering Rob's words clearly.

"I found a new girl, someone who I knew I was going to be with. Delilah and I married two decades ago, and we are happily together. And I know you're going to experience the same delightful ending as well. So don't settle."

The comfort of his words soothed Rory a little. She found herself leaping forward and kissing Logan, and being greeted with the warmth of his mouth. Logan, unexpectedly, didn't pull away. Instead, he performed the opposite action. He placed his hand on her hair to maintain a steady balance and his other hand around her waist. Then, he kissed her back. Rory didn't want to let go. So she let herself fall backward onto the white couch as Logan continued kissing her, like he was glued to her. She mumbled an incoherent "I love you" through the exchanging of their kisses, but Logan seemed to understand and countered, "I love you more." His words were also muffled, but Rory smiled to let him know she understood.

All of this was a dream–too good to be true, in Rory's opinion. And she, in fact, was right. The turning of a key echoed into the living room and into the newly reunited couple's ears.
