"Okay, so like what are your favorite colors?" Boomer asks, clapping her hands together to get the children's attention. It was Wednesday, meaning Boomer was at the daycare teaching art to the small children. "Pink!" Blue, but red" "Yellow!... I think." "Orange." "Green." "I think purple but I don't know." The answers came all at once, everybody talking over one another as if raising your hand didn't exist. "Okay, okay. One at a time, sillies." She chuckled, turning to a little girl as she approached. "Do you have this color?" She asked, pointing to a hot pink flower on her flowy pink dress. "Oooh, I think I do!" She replied enthusiastically, making her way to the large bin holding all of the art supplies they were using. Digging through it, she complimented a couple of drawings the kids made her.
Then a genius question accrued. "What's your favorite color, Ms. Bonks?" the small girl asked, swaying to make her dress swirl around her knees. "Hmmmmm... I'm thinking... RAINBOW!" The little girl, Ellie, wrinkled her nose. "That's not a color!" She protested, giggling at such a silly mistake. Bonks scoff playfully, feeling the hot pink within her reach. So close... "Says who?" She asks her, elbow-deep in the bin. "ME!" shouted at least five kids who only heard the last part of the conversation. She rolls her eyes, hand enclosing the pencil victoriously. "Well... I think the rainbow is a reasonable color. It's pretty, it represents love. Besides, when you make art, like you guys are doing, do you use one color or all the colors that look good to you?" She explained, finally freeing the color pencil from its bin prison and handing it to the little girl who seemed to be thinking this over like the rest of the class. They all looked down at their bright, color-filled pages of art. "I guess your right..." She says softly, her voice barely above a whisper. Spotting how sad they seem, Boomer rolls her eyes playfully. "Hey. It's okay to love only one color, but it's also okay to love more than one too!" She wanted to get the joyful mood back into the children. And it worked, they all went back to scribbling happily on their coloring sheets.
After a while, her watch beeped, signaling it was time for her to leave. Unfortunately, the kids knew that too, and started to whine. "I don't want you to go!" "Yeah! I'm not done with my tree!" "I'm not done with my bunny!" Boomer sighs. Here we go again.

After bribing the kids, she was able to make it out alive and with her art supplies. "I'll miss you!"a kid screamed as she nudged the door closed with her hip, making her snort. She loved those kids. Her shop was within walking reach, so she strolled down the path and enjoyed the nice weather.
It was warm with a light breeze, clouds lazily drifting in the sky. Her unbuttoned flannel shirt floated in the wind behind her like a cape, exposing her faded rainbow shirt and ripped black jeans. Her black ankle boots made a nice clicking noise as she walked. It was lunchtime, so everybody was out in search of some good food to pair with this pleasant day. When she made it to her shop, she set the tub of art supplies on her feet and fished out her keys. She unlocked the door and went inside, a rush of cool air welcoming her. Glancing at the clock, she smiled excitedly. Thirty minutes until lunch was over. If she left now, she could make it to her favorite restaurant. Sliding the tub behind the counter, out of sight, she snatched her purse and ran out, relocking the door behind her.
She was early coming back. Sliding on her apron, she sat back and waited impatiently. She counted the paint splatters on her white, fluffy fur, restocked and reorganized the shelves, and cleaned till a group finally walked in, the bell signaling their arrival. Afterward, business was normal. They asked her where something was or just simply explored. However, they always found something they enjoyed.
The clock chimed, showing her how much time has passed. It was closing time. She switched the sign to CLOSED and cleaned up for the day. When she was finished, she sat behind the counter and admired the sunset. A golden hue covered everything in the store, making it seem magical. The last customer left Jackie's sweet shop across from her. She watched as they settled down, exhausted from the busy day. Memories from back then, when the town was filled with bad guys, filled her brain. They had called on us, the heroes, to fend them off. Boomer was an illusionist. She could make people see things that they've seen before, bringing the past back to them. She could make them see whatever she wanted that was stored either in her brain or theirs'. She hasn't used her powers in a long time, though, since there was no one she needed to use them on. Jackie waved at her from across the street, his shop a golden hue too, making it more magical than it already was. Yes, those were the good old days.
