***Marinette's POV***

Almost 2 months ago Lila accused me, almost 2 months ago I left. Although I'm lonely, I don't have to worry about anything except being Ladybug and making sure me and the kwamis are getting fed. The akuma attacks have slowed considerably, so I mostly just sit around the house most days, or patrol the city as Ladybug. I've been seeing less and less missing posters of myself, so I'm hoping people will start to forget about me all together. Tiki and the other kwamis have been less and less talkative these past couple of months. They only talk to me if they need something or I try to start a conversation, even Pollen has been quiet recently.

"Hey Tiki!"

"Yes, Marinette?"

"I'm going to go out and get some food."

"Alright."

"I should be back in less than an hour."

"Ok."

I sighed and walked out the door. I kept my hood up as I walked to the store. Ever since I saw Adrien in that one store, I try to go to a different store each time I go. It's just easier to not be seen. I start the long walk in a new direction, trying to find a new store. After walking for almost 20 minutes, I find one. I grab anything that's essential. Food, and toiletries that need to be restocked. I also decided that this one time, I was going to buy something I didn't need. So I grabbed stuff to make a cake, and some new clothes. I paid for everything and I started for home. Maybe today, I could even get out of the house for a minute as Marinette. Carefully of course, but just to be myself for a minute. When I got home I put everything away and started on the cake. I was only making a simple vanilla cake, but I was excited. This would be one of the first sweet things I would be able to eat in a long while. I finished the batter and poured it into the cake pans. I put it in the oven before getting ready for my walk.

"Tiki, I just put a cake in the oven. I should be back before it's done." I said, putting my shoes back on.

"Ok."

I sighed and looked over at my kwami, she was the only out of the box right now. Everyone else was in the box, most likely sleeping. I pulled my hood back up and headed out of the house. The sun was setting, it's beautiful.

***Adrien's POV***

The plane landed and I was waiting for Natalie to come and get me. I wasn't allowed to leave the plane unless I left with her, so I just busied myself collecting all of my things. We were finally back in Paris. It was late, but as soon as I'm out of school tomorrow, I'm going to Fu's old house. Natalie came to get me, and we both got off the plane. The drive home was long, but luckily I fell right asleep. The next day I was so excited to get school over with, that I woke up an hour early. Unfortunately for me, my father wanted to talk with me before school. I sat down at the table eating breakfast when he walked in.

"Son, could I speak with you?"

"Um, sure. Of course."

He sighed and sat down next to me, he hesitated before awkwardly putting his hand on my shoulder.

"So I know that you miss your friend, and that you are really hoping they find her, but-."

"But what?" I asked slowly.

"The police found evidence that she might have left the country."

"What?"

"If she did leave the country, then the chances of finding her are little to none."

I stayed quiet, staring at my plate. I no longer had an appetite. She couldn't be gone, I knew I should've fought harder to stay here. Maybe she had been at Fu's house, but she left as soon as she could! I felt my eyes start to water, but I refused to cry, I've done enough of that already.
