I slowly opened my eyes. I realized I fell asleep on the rooftop of the building. As I opened my eyes, I saw a black figure hovering above me. I thought it was just my imagination, so I rubbed my eyes and looked again. It was gone. "What the.." I slowly sat up and looked at the horizon.

"Holy- how long what I asleep for?" I looked around for my phone but realized I left it in the office. I stood up and headed over to the roof door, going back downstairs to my office cubicle.

I walked into the office and grabbed my phone from the desk. I checked the time.

"I fell asleep for 2 hours??" I put my phone back down and sat on the desk. "I really need to start doing things instead of just falling asleep all the time..." Just then, I heard a noise coming from the outside of the office building. It must've been really loud for me to have heard it from the 6th floor. I get up and slowly creep over to the staircase. I peek downstairs.

I don't see anything, so I start heading downstairs. After I went down a few floors, I heard another loud bang. This time, it was louder. "What the hell...?" I rushed downstairs, only to find that the entrance door had been blocked off. "What?!" I rushed over to the door. It had been boarded off by.. someone outside? A human? "Hello?" I yelled out. "Anyone there!?" No response.

I ran as fast as I could back up to the roof. "They couldn't have gotten f-far.." I ran out of breath rather quickly. (I wasn't one to run much)

I got to the top of the roof and immediately leaned against the railing. No one was there. "Who would've.." I was extremely confused. "What.. why?" I took a deep breath and tried to shake off the feeling.

I went back down to my floor and sat under the desk in the cubicle. "It doesn't look like I'm getting out of here anytime soon. That thing blocking the entrance is way too heavy to move by myself." I ruffled through my backpack. "I have enough food for a while." I got up and headed to the water fountain to get some water. "I'll have to find a way out of here when I run out of stuff." I drank some water and wiped away the bit that was left on my face. I walked back over to the cubicle and sat on the desk. "Or I could always try to push that thing away." "..." "I think the heck not. That thing is huge, I mean, if it's big enough to cover the whole entrance? I'm definitely not strong enough for that." I looked around. "There's nothing much to do here."

I decided to go back up to the roof and watch the chaos coming from down below. "I miss mom.." I felt my eyes begin to water. I quickly wiped away my tears. "Idiot.. now's not the time to be crying." I sniffled. Just then, I saw something heading towards the building I was in. It didn't look like a zombie. It was running really swiftly and was pitch black. "Is that..?" I couldn't see much about it since it was so far away, but I could see that it looked up at me. I got startled and fell backward. "Ow.. shit." I put my hand on my head.

"Dang it.." I immediately stood up and looked back down, only to find that the figure was gone. "What the hell..?" I looked around everywhere. It was nowhere to be seen. "Where did it go? Was that another person? They must've known I was here, I mean, they looked at me." I sat back down, dangling my feet off the edge of the building, through the bars. I tried to think of other things. "I doubt eating almonds and bars for the rest of my life will be appetizing." I tilted my head. "For the rest of my life? No, I'll find a cure. I'm sure I will. Somehow." I lay down and stare up at the sky. "I've got a while until it's night. I could check for another way out?" I didn't move, despite saying I'd search for an exit. I just watched the clouds pass by, birds flying from above. "Jeez, it's boring just laying here. I guess it could've been worse." I sat up again. "I can't say I was that excited for college. But I'm not too sure this is any better." I stood up. "I could draw to pass the time? Did I even bring my sketch pad?"

I left to go back to the floor my stuff was on, and I went back into my cubicle, closing the door. I dug through my bag. "Where is it..." I sighed when I realized I didn't bring it. "Shit.. it's not here. Why didn't I bring it?" I leaned against the wall of the cubicle and stared at the ceiling. "I guess I won't die without it." I took an energy bar out of my backpack. "I guess I could look for a sketch pad in a store if I get out of here." I unwrapped the energy bar. I took a bite. "I should find better food soon. I miss mom's cooking." I felt myself begin to get emotional again. I shook my head and stuffed the energy bar into my mouth. "But, there's nothing I can do about it now!" I stood up and opened the cubicle door. "I should start exploring this place since I gave nothing better to do." I grabbed my bat. "Just in case there are zombies on the other floors."

I walked into the stairway. "I'll start on the tenth floor and make my way down." I started walking up the stairs, all the way to the tenth floor. I noticed it must've been the office of whoever was in charge of the place. (Before everything went to chaos, of course.) "Let's just hope I don't find any zombies up here.."
