Heather Nicole Tyler is the complete opposite of her sister: uptight, a control freak, and focused. She remained in school while Rose dropped out and now she is attending university, studying to become a writer. While Rose is supportive of her sister's dream, their mother Jackie keeps telling Heather that university is giving her 'heirs and graces.'
When Heather visits Rose at work, the two of sisters are cornered in the basement of the shop by mannequins, only to be rescued by and eccentric man with a Northern accent, big ears and a leather jacket.
After helping him save the universe, he invites them to travel through time and space in the T.A.R.D.I.S!
