As soon as I said those words she got quiet. My hand grips her thigh tighter. Is she not going to say anything? "Okay" she says after a moment of silence. Okay? I'm surprised she didn't put up a fight. To be fair I think I'm going to stay surprised. We only met each other once, twelve years ago. As soon as we near her house I notice her getting more tense.
Last year they moved. I guess they finally got a better house from the shitty one they lived in a while ago. I park the car still thinking about how her only response was 'okay'. "Are you planning something?" I say. "Oh my lord! Do you ever think maybe you talk too much? It's like you can't get enough of my voice, you just wanna hear me talk. We only met each other once before this, stop trying to act as if you know me!" She says in one breath. I guess she's right, I don't know her. But I'm not letting her think I'm wrong.
I open the door and get out, ready to ring the doorbell. "What are you doing?" she says, her blonde hair swaying to the side. "Ringing the doorbell, you idiot." I said, rolling my eyes. She's so fucking annoying. "I have the keys." she whispers as she opens the door. Oh so now she's shy? I can already smell the fact that she'll be a nuisance to deal with.
My father and her father sit at opposite ends of the table and there's the dude who helps people get married or some shit in the middle. But my father stands when he notices us, probably to greet her. My father is an asshole to others mostly, I can't say he's ever been a bad father. But he's more of an unfeeling bastard which is why I'm stuck on this mission.
I knock on my father's office and enter after I hear him saying "come in". "What did you call me here for?" I ask, bored out of my mind. The only thing I'm looking forward to is becoming the fucking leader of the Mafia. But not until I get married will my father let me take over.
"You know you're getting married in a year right?" my father asks me. Fuck, I forgot all about that. All I remember is that I'm marrying some blonde girl. I groaned and my head hit the back of the chair. "Stop groaning, grow the fuck up. You're turning 22. Also there's more important information about this marriage I didn't share with you.". That piques my interest, but I don't question my father, I just raise my eyebrow.
"You only have to stay married to her for three years. Once the years are over, kill her. The fact that you think I'd let you stay married to that vermin's daughter is absurd. He fucking betrayed us, I'm just far too lazy to find a proper wife for you so might as well torture him by using his daughter for our gain. Milk some information about who her father helps from her. You will get the title for leading the mafia after you marry her. Make sure to have her fall in love with you so you can have a child together at that time. After it's over you don't even need to divorce her because she'll be dead. Also she doesn't know about the Mafia or that's what her father told me at least." he says.
A part of me feels bad. She doesn't deserve to die, but she's probably as bad as her father. I've only met her once and I barely remember.
"Took you guys a while to come, I was starting to worry. Hi Aurora, how are you dear?" he says with a tight smile. Holy fuck he's fake. I pulled out a chair for Aurora cause might as well start now being a gentleman for her to practice for events and well if I want this shit to work. My mom also taught me manners unlike some namely Aurora who won't even sit.
"Aurora, where are your manners? Especially to your future father in-law and fiance." her father asks her with a smile that's so creepy I want to plaster it on my punching bag. But I refrain myself from saying shit cause you never want to get yourself in deep shit in situations like this. I look over to Aurora and see her shaking her head out of the trance she was just in.
"I'm so sorry. I'm doing great, how are you?" she says in a sweet ass tone. Is she bipolar? She was just having so much attitude with me and now it all disappeared. It'll be fun messing with her. My father places documents on the table and looks at me with an 'Are you ready?' expression. I nod my head at him and looked at Aurora. She looks as pale as a ghost. Her eyes read through the paper and she trembles so hard like a motherfucking leaf that I have to place my hand on her knee so she'll stop bouncing it. "We're getting married today?" she asks as she unclenches and clenches her fists in a repetitive way under the table.
Everything about her ticks me off. Maybe it's just the fact that I can't fuck random people anymore and have to actually have kids. If my mom saw me speak the way I did to Aurora she would've smacked me. Maybe dad is emotionally fucked cause he lost his woman, but Aurora will never be my woman and someone had to make sure she knew.
"Yes" my father says and he hands us pens. The random dude reads all that marriage bullshit to us and as I sign the robot, sorry Aurora opens her mouth. "Aren't we supposed to get married later? I- uh thought we were going to have dinner today and then just discuss it?" she stammers. Her father sighs and cuts her glare. "No, it's today." my father says. "May I be excused please? I just have to use the bathroom really quickly." she says. "Go ahead." my father says.
A/N: Holy shit I haven't written in so long this is probably cringe. Guys it's been three days of this month and I only read six books.
