I TOOK A DEEP breath when I finally stepped outside the school gates. There was no other feeling like that. The fact that it felt like I was being released from prison- which might as well have been the case- showed just how much I despised being there. In  my yet another educated opinion- not that anyone asked but I was gonna give it anyway- school was just a universal punishment of whatever crimes we may have committed in our previous births. Not that I believed in all of that- but no one could convince me otherwise.

There was a peacefulness as I just stood there, with my eyes closed, letting my body finally feel the freedom I had been craving the whole day.

Has it really only been a few hours? Because it sure as hell felt like a decade.

I'm saying it again, whoever came up with this really had to walk the plank. Well not exactly the Pirates of the Carribbean type of plank, okay, as long as the other side held every monstrous sea creature to ever grace our television screens.

I saw Isabel's car parked, a few cars away from where I was standing. It had been a few weeks since I came here but I still didn't know the place that well. But I was sure I remembered the route to the house. Not that it was the only reason I didn't want to be picked up from school like I was an eight year old kid.  So I took out my phone and texted Isabel. Short and straight to the point

' Walking today so don't pick me up. '

Then I pressed send after I was done. . There was no need to beat around the bush anyway. I didn't even understand why they were still picking us up like we were toddlers. I  looked from one side of the street then the other before crossing over. I plugged my headphones in and blasted the music in full blast. That always set the mood for me.

I had been walking for about ten minutes when I was so sure I heard someone screaming behind me. It wasn't my problem so I obviously ignored them. Whoever and whatever was going on, someone else would deal with it. I wasn't in the mood to play nice. That container was running on pretty much empty. My ears kept tingling so I removed the headphones from only one ear for a few seconds.

"For the love of everything that's holy, will you please just stop." I was more than just sure that the person was shouting for me to stop.

Nope not happening.

The scream now sounded coherent and I rolled my eyes when the arrogant cutesy finally jogged up behind me. I sighed increasing my pace and his jog turned into a full blown on sprint.

"Jesus Christ." He huffed and muttered endless curses as he finally caught up to me.

"Hey! I've been screaming my lungs out for the past three minutes. What's wrong with you?" I sighed while reducing the volume but not removing the headphones from my one ear. Apparently my patience was also running on empty as well.

"What do you want?" I couldn't hide my annoyance from dripping in my words. He dramatically heaved, placing both his hands on his knees. I paced away from him, leaving him to try and catch up again.

"Will you just stop already. I'm dying here."

"Then die and see if I care. I'm ninety nine percent sure I'll even take a nap on your grave." I flashed my teeth for half a second before I turned away.

I was definitely a hundred percent sure.

"Wait, you serious?" He seemed genuinely interested to know. I stopped and gave him one of my signature devilish smirks, staring into his bright eyes.

"Yes. I'll even put you there myself." He took a momentary step back and I left him there, feeling great about scaring him off.

"So now leave me alone." I shouted behind my back. I barely took ten steps before coming to an abrupt halt. The guy was literally right there.
