chapter 3:settling down

Soon enough the family's stuff had been delivered and dropped off the drivers wanted to leave quickly as they felt something was off about royalton.but they couldn't really put their finger on what made them feel so uncomfortable or out of place as royalton looked like paradise they questioned themselves but decided to make there leave without a second chance.

Adam had been waiting for a while to get to his stuff and took the opportunity to have first grabs at his boxes.when he did he took the stuff up to the fourth floor straight to his bedroom and quickly grabbed a box cutter and opened the boxes and started placing things where he wanted them to be he had books and awards for being a straight a and b student. Even one for being the most gracious and pure boy in the private school. Adam thought it was stupid why there was an award for something so usual so he decided to keep it packed away.

After a while adam settled in his room though he wasn't all the way finished...he had one last project to do he went to the hidden room behind the bookshelf and started decorating with things he had found his parents would never approve of such as non religious books aka steamy books he had stolen from the library. Adam seemed so pure on the outside yet on the inside he was just a romantic and full of color he had dreams of leaving behind his religiousness and being free all he wanted to be and all he dreamed to be was to truly be himself. Soon the hidden room was decorated, one side of his wall was half full of steamy romance novels and the other was a dream board he had created for his future.

There was also a desk with an art book. What's inside that art book? Well that's a good question...without a second thought Adam had heard his mother calling him downstairs for dinner and he made his way out of the hidden safe place. Adam then made his way downstairs, his mother greeting him with a hug and a kiss on the forehead. Adam had noticed that the kitchen and the living room were already halfway unpacked. Knowing his mother she started with the kitchen as she hates going through boxes trying to find things she needs when cooking food.

The smell of loaded potato soup filled the kitchen and man did it smell as good as it tasted,adams mom margaret never made tasteless or unflavored food she was a pro why because her mother adam's grandmother had taught margaret everything she new. Adam didn't know much about his grandmother as she passed away when he was just a child all he new was she was a head chef at a fancy hispanic restaurant called.rositas kiss and that the restaurant was usually packed for months on end.soon enough after dinner adam helped his mother clean up but they were soon greeted with a knock at the door and a beautiful melody of the door bell ringing.

There were two kids about adams age one named cyrus and another named sam they were church boys. how adam could tell that they were church boys was because they were holding white bibles with very unique stitching the bibles switching was a maroon color or a wine red color. adam stood up from his seat that faced the window that revealed the visiters and went to the door and opened it and smiled at the males "good evening" he greeted happily

the boys smiled back at him and waved then sam spoke up"good evening i hope we didnt interrupt your dinner but we wanted to invite you to join our church this sunday? "said sam .adam smiled and nodded yes "we just finished dinner so dont worry about interrupting us and about joining church i think my mother would love the idea of me going my name is adam" sam and cyrus smiled and then cryus spoke up"my name is cyrus and this is sam we will return to your house sunday at 6:30 am to come get you so we can walk together are you staring school tomorrow ?" cryus questioned with curiosity and adam answered with full honesty "i am and 6:30 sounds perfect .

cryus and sam nodded "alright thanks for being so nice we are very happy to have a new friend."adam nodded and watched as both males walked away and waved as they left the block and went home together adam smiled seeing that they were siblings and now he had two new friends adam closed the door and stretched "mom,dad im going to head to bed im exhausted"they nodded and smiled eric and marget smiled at him "goodnight love make sure you do your nightly prayers before bed and have your uniform ready for school brush your teeth before bed as well"margret claimed before going back to the conversation

adam nods in agreement before going to his room and closed the door then got on his knees what his parents didnt know is that he hasnt done nightly prayers for a months because he felt he didnt need to its not like anyone would find out right?....
