...
I sat up. Rubbing my head, from my slight headache, I glanced around. I was laying in a relatively flat grass plains. But where even was I? ...oh right. I'm in a whole other world. Looking forward, I could see the plains stretching for a long distance. Looking left, I saw some trees, just regular oak trees. Nothing too special. Looking right, I could see, far, far away, there was a river. I shifted my body so I could look behind me. I saw a mountain in the background, but that didn't catch my eye. Instead, there was also a small brown box. No, this wasn't any box... it was a chest? Surrounding the chest, there were small... torches... implanted into the ground. I finally stood up, and walked forward. I kneeled in front of the chest, and flipped the lid open. Inside, there was a large backpack. I took it out, and started pillaging it. All I found were random items. "Sticks? Seeds? A sapling...? A wooden axe..?" It was all so strange. Although, I found something quite interesting. "A book and quill..." I took it out and flipped through the empty pages. It was a regular note book with a quill. I needed ink to write in it. "Huh..." I wracked my brain for an explanation. Then I realized, this backpack must be from Sheldon. It would make sense; survival items, if you can call them that, and a notebook to log data. I used to be a Boy Scout, so I'm not entirely a rookie. I stood up again, putting on the backpack. Then another new mystery presented itself... the backpack and items were light as a feather. I took out the wooden axe, flipping it in my hands, trying to make sense of this. "Jeez, how much more confusing is this gonna get?" I jokingly muttered to myself. I went to my left, towards the small forested area. I approached a tree, my steps crunching from the dry leaves. I looked up at the tree, admiring its height. I leveled my axe to the trunk, lining a good angle. I raised my arms and started hacking at it. After a little bit of manual labor, the tree fell. "Timber!" I rejoiced at my victory of deforestation. I started cutting the wood into pieces. Since they were so light I could just stuff them into my backpack. I grabbed the first log, and then my bracelet lit up. "..? What's this?" I held my wrist to my face. I looked at the small screen on the metal bracelet. It started cycling blueprints. "What's this?! Planks..?" I clicked one of the blueprints titled "planks." It started showing me how to cut the log, giving me wooden planks. I tried it, and was surprised by the result. I was sweating, but I had 4 decent wood planks. I kept cycling the blue prints. "Damn, this is so neat! I've never seen anything like this before!" Before I could continue my admiration and labor, my stomach growled. I was hungry, and thirsty too. I stuffed my planks and logs into my backpack, and turned 180. I made my way back to the plains. "I remember seeing a river over here..." I approached the water source with dehydration and hunger on the brain. I kneeled down at the river, cupping water into my hands, and drinking it. It wasn't pleasant, but it was water. I sat at the river, watching it flow. I needed to figure out how to get food. "It's not like it's gonna just fall from the sky..." I said, sarcastically. Suddenly, food fell from the sky. An apple fell and hit me on the head, bouncing into my lap. I took it and ate it, feeling the hunger. Now before you complain about plot convenience, I don't want to hear it. It didn't fill me up. I needed more food. There weren't any more apples either. But, instead, it gave me an idea. I pulled out my planks, and scrolled through my blueprints on the tiny bracelet screen. I made a "crafting table", which was apparently needed for certain things. I made a few more planks, and pulled out my sticks. "Perfect." I started crafting, and when I was done... I had a wooden hoe. I took my workbench back, and started tilling land. I planted the seeds I had gotten from the backpack, and sat down. "I need food to sustain me while it grows..." I headed downstream, looking for nuts or apples. Instead I found some berries. I carefully picked one from the bush. It was a light ruby color, with a a firm texture. It was almost like a red grape, and these thoughts made me even hungrier. I popped it into my mouth, hoping I don't fucking die. I slowly chew it, and this world continued to impress and surprise me. These wild berries weren't the bitter ones back home; these berries were sweet, like a strawberry. "Maybe these were just strawberries...?" But they were a different berry. I rummaged the bushes, eating a bunch of berries. I must of eaten a lot, because I felt a little better after that. I headed back to my little settling upstream near the river, and smiled. "Today wasn't so bad, I actually enjoyed my time here." The sun was starting to set. I viewed out at the twilight before me, and felt calmed. Maybe it's the berries, or the river water, but I felt at ease and like I was actually safe. I mean, nothing can hurt me during night time. As my feeling of security grew, I started thinking about shelter. "Well, tonight I will probably have to sleep on the floor." I stood up, not ready to end my night. As the dusk took place of the beautiful twilight, I wanted to explore. The only problem is, I had no light sources. But we all knew how I could solve that problem. I trotted back to the plains that I started in, and saw the light immediately. Those small torches next to the chest were still good, and I took one. "These would work perfectly," I said, already waving it around in the air. I walked along the tree line, avoiding setting fire to everything. Eventually, I found a coast. "This must be the ocean..." I observed the waters, still, and the smell of the beach. It smelled different, probably because this beach has never been used. I walked on the sandy beach, letting the ocean guide me around the world. I soon found out, this "world"... was an island. It's a big island, but it's definitely an island. "If I were to describe it... I'd say it's about 1 mile in length and width." I wasn't panicked. In fact, I was calm. I don't need anything fancy. My legs were heavy from all the walking, so I sat against a tree. I implanted the torch into the ground next to me, and gave this island some thought. Actually now that I think about it, I haven't seen any wild life. No bugs, no insects... no animals... "yawn..." I was so tired. I fell into a sleep, needing my energy if I wanted to continue with day 2 tomorrow.
