A Silent Journey Through My Mind

On the train, I attempted to hold back my tears. It felt impossible. I didn't want to look weak in front of Katniss, I couldn't let her see I was upset... But I did.
It wasn't fair. It wasn't right that the capital could treat all 12 districts with such hate and pleasure at the same time. That last sentence may sound strange, but it IS true; they hate how we look, how we are, but really, they are just indifferent towards our suffering, not caring who dies. The pleasure is a mingling kind word that bonds in love with indifference. They find it "entertaining" to watch people die, not the slightest bit worrying that they are doing wrong. 74 years of punishment, 74 years of Hunger Games, that makes 1,702 people dead, 1,702 lives lost. When is enough enough?
I see these Capitol people as different, odd. But all I can think about is that I hope they don't change me. But some changes are for the best.
I told you the Capitol seems odd, and that's how I know that the odds will never be in my favour.
