Sue's diary

*College*

College classes had begun in earnest,I was able to get into an ivy league school due to the fact that I was a straight 'A' student...I had left my home to face life in college,mom called twice a week and dad hardly called me,we just texted whenever few things came up or I needed to sort out bills, Philip called me almost everyday and he never ceased to tell me how much he missed me ,I missed him too and I must admit that life here was different and difficult at the same time,I struggled to meet up with schedules,I skipped meals and was stressed out a lot..my nightmares had reduced due to the fact that I was always tired when I get back to my room so I just pass out and wake up the next morning.

The day was bright, the clouds were happy,all students seemed to be in a cherry mood, I was coming back from the library where I went to put finishing touches to my project,"excuse me", I heard a male voice from behind me; I didn't look back at first because I figured it might be one of those dudes that did nothing all day but hang around and holler at ladies walking past them.,"hello",the voice called again,this time closer, I turned, ready to tell whoever was behind me to back off.,"sorry to bother you but you dropped this on your way out of the library " he said, it was my history textbook, I stretched my hand to collect the  book from him, he quickly flipped the book to his other hand and shook my outstretched arm "I'm Jimmy", "Hi Jimmy" I stuttered; "Thank you" I continued as I collected my textbook from him "If you really want to thank me why not buy me a cold drink,it's hot out here anyways" he said, I was already getting impatient because I had a class in 2 hrs and all I wanted to do at that moment was take a quick nap.,"I'm sorry but I'm in a hurry right now,I have a class",I lied, just to get him to go away,"maybe next time" I added, He smiled and then nodded "you haven't told me your name" he said, I was hesitant on replying him,but I figured I had to or else I'll be stuck with him for another minute, "Sue","my name is Sue" I had said, unsure if I  did the right thing by telling him my real name; with that I turned and walked hurriedly towards my hostel without looking back.

It had been exactly two weeks I met Jimmy when I bumped into him again at a store,I had gone to pickup a few toiletries,I would have gone a week earlier but I was chocked up with school work and all.
Jimmy didn't notice me at first because he came with two of his friends, they had picked up can beers and  a few Cheetos,I suspected they were attending a party somewhere that night as  most college students do at their leisure time,I walked towards the cashier quickly so I could get out of the store before jimmy could notice I was there , but luck wasn't on my side as I heard jimmy hurrying his friends up and heading towards the cashier., " That would be"40 dollars" the young cashier said to me and handed me the paper bag, as I struggled to bring out money from my purse,my school I.D fell out ,I bent over to pick it up when this hand quickly picked it up for me and gave it to me,the hand was Jimmy's,
Sue!!,he exclaimed, like he was delighted to see me,I quickly paid the cashier so I could move out of line for others to pay for their stuffs.
