It was the same routine for Evelyn. Day in, day out. Wake up, go to work and then get home, cook dinner and go to sleep. It wasn't as if she didn't like the familiarity of the routine, she did, it was just she wanted excitement and something MORE than what she currently had. Her favourite part of the day was getting to go to work. She adored being a journalist. Yeah there was the long hours and sometimes the stories weren't all that, however she couldn't imagine doing anything else.
She didn't always know that she wanted to be a journalist. At first she wanted to be a news reporter, then a singer, which is why she picked media in high school. That then led her to here. Writing an article on the upcoming WSL season. She couldn't care less about football, her passion was nature. However there wasn't much to write about to do with nature, she occasionally got to write an article about the prettiest places to go during each season which was much more fun than football or some politics shit.

Anyway, she was was writing about the first Arsenal match of the season. Arsenal Liverpool, if she had to pick a team to support, it'd probably be Arsenal. She liked Katie Mccabe and Leah Williamson and she was interested in their new transfer, Alessia Russo. Evelyn had written a piece previously about Keira Walsh on the England team and met Russo briefly. She seemed sweet enough, Evelyn was looking forward to interviewing her after the match. Although all they'd talk about would be football and to be honest, Evelyn didn't care that much about football, the new Arsenal signings seemed to be very interesting.

Evelyn checked the time on the clock. 1:10. She tapped her hand against the desk as her co-workers all typed away. She didn't have much to write, so she went to the manager's office. Her and the manager, Toby, had a very close relationship. On multiple occasions he'd had dragged her to Arsenal games for 'collecting information' but they both knew that was a lie.
She knocked on the door, just incase. Evelyn didn't want to barge in while Toby was in the middle of an important meeting.
"Come in!" His jolly tone called
"Hey Tobes, just wondering if theres anything I can do before the match tomorrow? I could go and talk to the new signings, Lacasse, Cooney-Cross, Russo..." She trailed off. "I know Amy was meant to do it but I know she is feeling under the weather" Liar. Amy was fine, well probably hungover but fine in general. She'd appreciate less work though.
The man put his phone down and started typing away at his computer.  "We've got a compulsory finance meeting at the end of the day so I'd need you back by 4:30 latest but a before the season interview would sell well and we might get some insight into the new players.." He pondered "Okay, I'll make a phone call to check that the players are free and I'll get back to you." He smiled at her as she walked out the door.
Evelyn knew all it would be about would be football and although she didn't care too much about it, it would look very good for her to be doing more work.
She went back over to her desk and continued the last paragraph of the article.

About half an hour later, Toby called out to her
"I got you booked in to speak to a few of the new players in about an hour" He checks the time on his watch "So you'll be back for 4 which'll leave time to prepare for the meeting"
This meeting kept being brought up, not just by Toby, by literally all of the people higher up than her. It must be important if the whole of the writers are being brought in for it.
"Alright, thanks, I'll try and get some good stuff" She clicked her pen repeatedly as she tried to think of a list of football related questions.
After ten minutes all she'd got was:
- What is your dream team to play for?
- How do you hope to inspire young girls to join the acadamy?
- Who was your biggest inspiration while growing up?
- Did you know you wanted to play for Arsenal?
Evelyn was stumped about what else to ask them so decided on going with some less football-centric ones.
After another 20 minutes she had gotten more questions.
- What is your favourite song to listen to when you're sad?
- What is your favourite movie trilogy?
- What would be your dream team to manage?
- Would you rather lose the next 2 Euro and World cup finals and win the league or Arsenal get relegated and win the next 2 international tournaments?

She decided that the 8 questions on the page infront of her were enough. After fifteen minutes of fixing up her makeup and doing her finishing touches on the article, Evelyn got in her car, a 2006 Mini, and drove to the Emirates.
