Evelyn carefully removed her arm from Alessia's shoulders, trying not to wake the sleeping girl. Her chest rose and fell gently as she repositioned herself, murmuring quietly.
"What was that my love?"
"I said" She yawned "I wish I did hate you, it'd be a lot simpler"
Evelyn laughed and cuddled up to the girl again, deciding to have 10 more minutes of sleep."Would you want to meet my family?"
Alessia narrowed her eyes "Is now really the best time to be asking this? Considering you know, the article"
"Come on, they're not as bad as me" Evelyn picks up Alessia's hand and starts fiddling with her rings "Anyway, they've invited me over for my dad's birthday in a couple weeks, and they know I'm dating someone"
She groans as it seems going is inevitable "I'll try but if I've got a match on that day or the day after, I can't"
"Yes, yes I know" Rolling her eyes she takes off one of the blonde's rings and puts it on her finger "I like this one, it's my favourite"
"You can have it"
"Seriously? Less, I can't take this, it's yours"
"I want you to have it, so that even if we break up, I can come back and see you one last time to get it" Smiling at the journalist "Not that we will break up"
"So you think I'm your soulmate?" Raising an eyebrow at the girl "You seem hopeful, considering we get in arguments every 10 minutes"
"Mmm yeah I suppose, you could just be a phase"
"I see how it is, guess you won't be wanting my apology for earlier" She winked at Alessia "I'll just go cook instead"
Evelyn went to get up before she was pulled back to her previous spot.
"Don't you dare"
Giggling at the taller girl, she got on top of Alessia and pressed a passionate kiss to her lips, her hands running through her blonde waves.
"Should we go to the bedroom?" Evelyn asked, pulling away
"Why is that even a question?""So dinner?" Alessia asked hopefully.
"Have you not had enough to eat?" Smirking at the girl she sat up "I'll get something, but it won't be anything fancy"
"So, your parents, will they like me?" She trailed after Evelyn who was headed out to the kitchen.
"Hmm, I think so. Helena will" Searching through the cupboards for ingredients "That's my sister, she's a big football fan. Actually, she went to see your win last year"
"She'll be nice to meet then, but what about your parents? Do I need to bring wine? Should I get your dad a birthday present? Or is that too over the top?"
"Less, bring wine, don't get a present and I'll sign my one from the both of us. Now, for dinner we've got either plain pasta or something from the chip shop down the road" Smiling at the girl "Fine dining at it's best"
"Chip shop and I'll pay"
"You're a gem" She kissed Alessia's cheek and slipped on her old trainers "Like the shoes?" Pointing down at the dirty nikes with frayed laces
"Oh no way" She laughed hysterically at the girl "I'm a respected member of this community, I'm not going out with you in those"
"Fine, then you can cook for yourself"
"You aren't cooking and I'm paying for dinner" Alessia rightfully pointed out "So I should be the one making the threats, not you"
"My apartment"
"Then I'll leave"
Evelyn rolled her eyes at the stubborn girl "Fine, I'll put my nice shoes on"
"That wasn't that hard, was it?" Poking the bent over girl in her shoulder "Now hurry up, I'm bloody starving""Cheers" Evelyn grabbed the bag off the counter and wandered back over to Alessia "Smells banging"
"It better be, that price was fucking extortionate" She grumbled "Anyway, it's worth it if I get to spend another night with you"
Laughing at the confidence of her girlfriend "You're not spending another night, I just used you to get a free meal"
Feigning offence at the implication "How rude, I'll just take my chips and go""So" Evelyn cleared her throat, breaking the comfortable silence
"So?"
"Parents"
Alessia groaned "I already said I'm going to try and come"
"Yeah, but I thought you could meet them before my dad's birthday? In somewhere you're more comfortable.." She trailed off
"Evelyn get to the point" She fumbled in her pockets looking for the keys
"You've got a match tomorrow"
"Oh no"
"They might not come down but can I invite them? It would be nice for them to see you in your environment" She was trying to make it more appealing
"Eve, darling, you'd struggle to get 2 extra tickets"
"Yeah" She laughed nervously "See the thing is, I've already sort of got tickets.." She met Alessia's frowning eyes "I was planning to bring my best friend and maybe my sister"
"Oh Evelyn" She couldn't be mad at the girl, not when she looked so cute "Fine"
"You're the best" She hugged Alessia "Now let us in, it's bloody freezing"
"Sorry" She muttered and unlocked the door"Mmm these are so good" Evelyn moaned "Nothing beats it"
"You're so cute" Alessia wrapped her arm tighter across her shoulder "And I would love to meet your parents"
"Good because it was never a question, it was an order" She rests her head on the strikers chest, basking in the tranquility.
"I have to leave early tomorrow, so I might not see you until the match but I have something to give you"
Evelyn's eyes lit up at the prospect of a gift "Ooh! Can I have it now?"
"Obviously? Otherwise I'd give it to you after the match tomorrow" She walked over to her training bag, tripping over her own feet on the way.
"What is it?" She crosses her legs and sits up, eagerly awaiting her present
"Catch" Alessia chucked a shirt at her "I kept it from a match a while ago"
"Seriously?" She looks back up at her "Can I wear it tomorrow?"
"Well that is what I was hoping" She tensed up "If you think that it's too much, too soon then we can forget about it"
"Shut up, I love it"
Alessia visibly relaxed after the words left Evelyn's mouth "Good, I want my name to be on your back for the rest of our games"
"I would be honoured, but now I feel I should give you something"
She laughs at the implication "I can think of one gift"
"And what might that be?"
"Take a guess" She wandered off in the direction of the bedroom
"Be there in a second" She called outToby
Evelyn, just read through
the draft, it looks good.
I'm to send it on to be
published, do you want
to make any last minute
changes?
Yeah, I'll look at it
tomorrow, a few
details to smooth
over."Fuck" Evelyn swore and turned her phone off. The article was inevitable, but she had to remove any trace of Alessia in it.
