"Father can I please not come?" Says Amelia with an upsetting face. "Like I said terrai and we have had a good relation from the start and now we have to prolong this oath" the king sighed and softened his voice, "your presence will matter there sweetheart, you are the future Queen after all". Amelia nodded with a disappointed face and walked towards her room.
She threw herself to her bed as soon as she reached there "I have to face more people again" she said to herself and twisted her lips to find her gown prepared sitting next to her. She stood up and said "I guess we have no other choice". She took off her clothes and tried to fit into her corset which was extremely tight.
There was a knock on the door, because she was still covered she opened it and it was one of the maids. " do u need anything mam" said the maid. "No..no thank u..." Said Amelia looking weirded out. "Your mother sent me to help u get ready, ur highness" -maid. "Well I do actually need help putting this corset on so yes it will be very helpful if u closed the zip from the back" said Amelia awkwardly. "Sure thing mam" said the maid as she walked inside and closed the door.
Amelia stood in front of her mirror while the maid closed her zip from the back. the moment the zip closed she could feel the discomfort in her chest and her shortness in breath. "Are u alright ur highness?" Said the maid knowing how the corset must have made Amelia feel. "Yes it's just a little uncomfortable" said Amelia. " I know I understand but u have to get ready for the ball, your parents must be waiting". Said the maid giving Amelia a pleasant smile. Amelia nodded while the maid helped her put on jewelry, the maid also helped Amelia do her makeup. "Pink eyeshadow please" Amelia said pointing at the palette. "sure mam" said the maid and put different shades of pink on her eye making her enhance her features even more.
Amelia smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror, she didn't want to go but at least she was looking good. The maid helped her put on her heels and held her hand as Amelia stood up and walked outside her room. The dress was very uncomfortable but she had no other choice.
She went downstairs to find both of her parents waiting down the hall. One of the butler held her hand and made way for her while the other one bowed to her, offering her a glass of water. She politely declined and stood next to her parents. They waited as their transport arrived which only took a few seconds. But during this short amount of time Amelia made weird movements in her body because her back was itching and dress was too tight and irritating. Her mother gave her a furious look so she would behave.
And she did after that.
