"I want to get a divorce," a man almost in his thirties stated bitterly and coldly, taking a sip of his whisky.

The feeling of emptiness and tiredness visible on his face had been there for months. Especially in his eyes. Red, foggy, lifeless even. All because he married 'the love of his life' eight years ago, at such a young age. Unfortunately, this 'great love' of his for almost a year now has been cheating on him with his boss.

Fuckers

And after all that I sacrificed for her

My previous job, my family, my money, my friends...

My whole life

"W-what?... Are you feeling ill? Should I call the doctor, sweetie?" the woman got up and checked his temperature, touching his forehead with her hand. This only led him to slap it away.

"Don't touch me, you....," and he didn't finish. He didn't want to. He still couldn't believe that their vows from all those years and their life together meant nothing to her. "You insinuate that I'm sick, even though you were the one to fuck my boss while I was working my ass off for you... Hmm...? Who's the fucked up one?! Two jobs! No time for myself and you're telling me how sad you are! You're lucky I have the other job," the man got up too and screamed all of it in her face, which was now all red, almost violet from the panic, and grimaced horribly.

It was clear as a day she was not sorry for what she did. More afraid it came out.

"Alright! I am the bad one! I slept with him, and what?! You haven't visited me in bed for so many years! I am a woman, Takumi! I need a man that will care for me and not only work and work!"

Hearing this made the said man stand still. Of course, he cared for her. Of course, he loved her. He worked so much so that they would have a better life. He did this all for her.

"So instead of talking to me about it... you went into my boss's pants?" he chuckled ironically. The light chuckle transformed into a bigger and bigger laugh to the point he was now all red from the laughing and clutching to his stomach.

The woman seemed shocked by his state. When she wanted to get closer and reached out her hand towards him, he grabbed it and looked at her with seriousness in her eyes.

"Get the fuck out of my apartment," when the woman didn't react to that, he screamed: "Now!"

This made her pack her things and leave the place in an instant. Recalling his dark expression, made her shiver in fear. It was the first time he acted like that.

And luckily for her, the last one.

What am I to do with my life...

It's been a few days since he announced the divorce of his almost ex-wife. Since then he has felt like a shell of a human. For the first time in his life, he was all alone. He didn't know what to do.

He was now lying on the couch and finishing drinking another bottle of whisky. Seeing the last drop of the alcohol made him annoyed. That meant he had to get up and get more from the fridge. And so he did.

"What the hell..." he was bitterly disappointed to find out there was no alcohol left. "Guess, I gotta go do the groceries," the man sighed but started to dress in the black coat and went out.

It wasn't a late hour yet, but the sky was already dark. The cool wind made him shiver when he was walking down the street towards the nearest convenience store. There was almost no one out besides some drunk men and teenagers who looked like gangsters.

Walking into the small building that reeked of dirt and cigarettes, he greeted the cashier and went on with his shopping. He picked a couple of bottles of whisky, frozen pizza, and a pack of cigarettes.

Standing in the lane with sweets he stood and thought which candy to take.

"Excuse me, sir," a soft voice interrupted his thoughts and made him look down. The girl was still a teenager. Her [h/c] hair and [e/c] eyes were perfectly matched with her angel-like face.

He stood, staring at the girl for a while till he came to his senses and moved aside.

"Thank you," she smiled at him, which took him aback.

He was still standing and just observing her every movement. How her face grimaced a bit when she was thinking which candy to pick; how she picked something but was quick to put it down because she decided she wanted something else; how she finally picked the ideal sweet that was too high for her to reach - all of it seemed perfect for him.

"Here," the man towered over her, picked up the food she wanted, and handed it over to her. Still being right behind her and looking at her face from so close made his face warm and step away from the girl.

"Thank you so much, sir," the girl said cheerfully.

"No problem," he whispered while she was already walking away.

Suddenly he remembered that all this time he had alcohol and cigarettes in his hands, which made him feel embarrassed, and quickly put them all down in their places. He then came back to the lane with sweets and picked up the same candy that the angel-like girl bought and got them himself.

While walking back to his apartment, he heard a group of teenagers talking, and among all the voices he heard the girl's from earlier voice.

"Sorry, it took so long!" she apologized for such a trivial thing, which made, how he insinuated, her friends chuckle.

"You know you need to get more punctual, Y/N. New teachers will not cut you any slack on that," a girl with black hair laughed.

"Don't even remind me..." the angel-like girl looked down, clearly stressed about the new year of school.

Poor girl...

Interesting, where she's going to school

Sitting down on the couch and watching TV, the man looked at the table where he put the candy on. Then he went to get them and put one of them in his mouth.

Caramels...?

So sweet
