Rain takes a deep breath to calm his nerves and begins his presentation to the advisors. His people and P'Phayu's people are intermingled among the group to make sure the advisors actually listen, but they can't force them to accept the plan if they hate it.
Rain lays out his children of the court exchange program. It is based on his own experiences going to the Korean court and he feels as if it will be a good way to both learn and make friends among distant courts. He has even contacted a court in the US who seem very interested in the program.
To his surprise the advisors seem enthusiastic about the program. The children often suffer from boredom because of their long lives and living at the court for all of them. This will also give them an opportunity to safely go out and explore the world.
Rain is excited with the response he gets and meets P'Phayu at the entrance hoping they can celebrate. To his disappointment P'Phayu informs him he has another meeting to attend with P'Pakin. Rain watches him leave with P'Pai feeling disappointment wash over him.
"This is a terrible idea," Sky groans, running a hand over his face.
"This is a brilliant idea," Sig disagrees with a manic grin.
Rain is honest enough with himself to admit that he Sky is probably right, but his false heat has made him desperate. That's his only excuse for considering a hair brained plan cooked up by Sig, Sean, and Gram.
"You'll help me right Sky?" Rain asks, throwing his arms around his friend. "Please."
Rain notices that Sky looks a little pale but puts it down to nerves caused by what they are planning. If this goes wrong they could all be in a lot of trouble. Even if it goes right, Rain might not survive the night because P'Phayu is going to kill him.
"I am your friend aren't I?" Sky says, shoving Rain off of him.
"Help me pick my outfit? Namo is going to help me with makeup." Rain gives Sky his best puppy eyes.
Sky sighs and says, "Fine."
Phayu is wrapping up his meeting when a young, sired vampire informs them that Rain has run away and that his lycan guard Sky is also missing. Phayu is stunned by the news. Why would Rain do this now that they are just now making progress with the advisors?
He and Pai run into Rain's friend, Sig, whi is hanging suspiciously around the hall. A place he has no reason to be in.
"Lost your lover?" Sig says with an amused smirk.
"You're going to tell me where he is." Phayu says, it's not a request.
"I don't know if I should. Wouldn't want to cut my friend's fun for the night short." Sig says.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Phayu isn't usually quick tempered, but he balls his hands into fists to stop himself from grabbing this smart mouthed young vampire by the shirt.
"Oh just that Rain said something about it you won't sleep with him before his first heat he would find someone who would." Sig says. "He said you wouldn't care, you are just here to be his consort when he is able to produce children."
Phayu felt his blood run cold, Rain didn't really believe that did he?
"Where is he?" Phayu's voice takes on a dangerous tone and the amused look slides off Sig's face. Sig quickly names a popular Bangkok nightclub before practically running away.
The nightclub is crowded and noisy, but Phayu spots his prey almost immediately. Rain is in the center of the dance floor, and it seems like he has the attention of at least half the patrons there. He isn't dressed as scantily as some of the people, but he is wearing tight black shorts that barely brush the top of his thighs and a black sleeveless crop top with the words "Bite Me" in blood red across the front.
