The world is beautiful.
The sky above me is nothing but blue. Blue in a vastness that has me wondering if heaven above used such a thing as their ocean. If the clouds were sea creatures, and the shapes they took on to our eyes were not illusions but real tricks of our created fantasy.
My hand extends above to touch the open air. To reach and feel the freedom of the emptiness that I see.
Ahead I see a figure coming close in the distance. I relax as I take him in, our eyes connecting and never breaking off from each other. He stares at me. The whole way until he stands above my figure, eyes showing just the barest hint of lust as I stretch out on the grass further for him to see.
His body bends down, hands encasing either side of my head, as he holds himself above me, blocking my view of the sky above, the clouds that soared, the vast open that surrounded.
Nothing but his face, and the grin that is slowly spreading.
Not a word is said.
Not a word needs to be said as he leans closer, to let lips meet.
* * *
His hand trails down my spine, lazy in their actions.
Jerome always did this after. Always felt the need to touch and feel, just the smallest of connections of skin against skin. As if he needed to make sure this moment was real and we were real and the whole earth around us was not playing a cruel joke.
My eyes were closed, letting the warmth of the sun heat my back as his fingers continued to dance along in their path.
"I was looking for you."
"You found me."
He laughs at my words, his fingers going lower to touch my thighs, nails scraping against flesh.
I shiver at the contact.
He notices.
Of course he does. He repeats his action, almost lazily as he rolls to be on his side, his chest pressing against me to let our bodies be closer.
"More importantly, your father was looking for you. So I volunteered to go find you."
"You did a wonderful job," I murmured, smiling at my words as I felt his laughing body shake into me.
"Yes... well... you just looked... laying here in the field...as if you were waiting just for me to come and take you."
I lean over to my own side, letting us now be face to face.
"Waiting for you?" His smile only widens as he takes in my rising brow of disbelief.
"It wouldn't be the first time."
I swat at him, laughing when he avoids it by moving closer to me, his arms encircling my frame. And then we are tumbling together, rolling with the other in our arms, laughter still spilling from our lips.
He leans forward, kissing me. A deep one, letting his tongue come and invade my mouth, leaving me breathless again.
"Goddess, I love you."
I smile at him.
It's a bubble of nothing but pure happiness.
We are both smiling at the other, a silly grin plastered to our faces, one that I think, will never be able to come off.
"I love you too."
He looks up at the sky, a mischievous smile that I know well coming onto his features.
"We still have some time left...?"
I only laugh as he swallows my smile, and continues kissing me.

Dusk is invading the sky. The moon is coming through to the world, ripping apart the canvas of day as she claws her way up to be seen.
I stare at the circle of her fullness, thinking back to old legends told to me from mother. The Moon Goddess who hid in the folds of darkness, who was not boastful like the sun, but clever and patient. Who told the wolves in the early ages to wait for her to come to the sky, and in doing so, they would become the strongest ones to roam the woods.
They would become the true predators of the night.
The woods are alive at day, this much is true.
But the woods become more at night. This much I know.
I enter the house, taking in the darkness and silently walking forward.
My effort in trying to be undetected is pointless. He is already waiting for me.
A flame is lit, one that illuminates his face as father slowly sets the wick on fire to show the rest of our surroundings.
"Where have you been?"
I seat myself at the table beside him. Father does not look angry. He rarely ever was. He was a man of peace, one that let your side be told before judgment was made.
"I was with Jerome."
He shakes his head.
"Jerome went looking for you hours ago."
My face becomes impassive as father's own slowly connects the dots.
He clears his throat.
"Next time I'll send Renna."
I smile at the way his arms are fidgeting. He wants to say something. My grin is only provoking him. But he shakes his head, an exasperated sigh leaving his body as he takes me in.
"He's going to be an Alpha someday, Nilsa...He has many responsibilities...you shouldn't take away his time like that."
"I'm not his keeper. He made his own choice on whether to stay or go."
Father's eyes turn doubtful as he again shakes his head.
We sit in silence together. Until father sighs and stands, extending his hand to help me rise.
"To bed now. Tomorrow is the Inspection."
My face contorts at his words. Father gives me a sad smile, his eyes somehow fading as they take me in.
"I know," is all he whispers, before stepping around me, and walking away.
Here's the deal: I am thinking (I don't want to make false promises) but I am thinking of posting another story and letting chapter updates rotate each week (ex. 1st week of the month is this story, 2nd week is the next, and then so on and so on)...
It seems a lot to take on two stories (readers in background "red glory!") okay ahem, three stories, but honestly most of these have been bottled inside me and I'm kinda impatient to let them out. So we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck all- and I hope you enjoyed the first chapter (don't worry, they get longer).
Until Next time,
Loves,
