"Damn. It really is dead" Richie says as he walks up from behind me.

Fuck, Bev didn't get here soon enough.

"Can I touch it??" Richie looks up at me with excitement.

"Uh-" Before I can even finish the sentience Richie's on the ground poking it with his finger.

"Yep, 100% dead" he says as he tries to feel for a heartbeat, "Can I keep it??"

Excitement fills his eyes again.

"Please, please, please, please??" He begs, "Pleeeaaaassseee"

"No" I say flatly and watch as Richie's face instantly becomes disappointed.

"Whyyyy noooot????"

"Because I said so."

"Awwww" He mumbles sadly, "But I even had the perfect box to keep it iiiin"

"Sucks to be you I guess" I say as he turns back to the dead bird.

"Hey guys! How's the bird?" Bev asks as she appears behind up.

"Dead." Richie responds.

"Richie wants to keep it in a shoe box" I say.

"Ummm, incorrect! I wanna keep it in a glass box for all to see!" Richie says in a way that suggests I should have known that the whole time, "Oh, uh, by the way, I already called Eddie over, he should be here arrroouuunnnddd..."

"RICHARD TOZIER!! YOU BETTER NOT HAVE TOUCHED THAT BIRD!!" Eddie calls out as he walks up.

"...Now!" Richie finishes his sentence as he stands up.

"Hey Eddie" I say.

Eddie ignores me as he stomps up to Richie.

"You're too late Ed's. I already touched it!" 

"Multiple times..." I mumble

Somehow Eddie heard that.
He looks at me in shock then turns to glare at Richie

"You shoulda got here sooner man! Now it's too late for me! I'm going to shrivel up and die! And all because you got here too late!" Richie says dramatically.

"Fuck you asshat" Eddie mumbles as he walks over to the bird, "hey Stan, what are you going to do with the Bird?"

"I-"

Richie cuts me off again "I was going to keep it in a shoe box and give it to you as a present. But Stan said no." Richie puts on a. over exaggerated look of despair.
