Hello! This is my HTFIL One-Shot. I'm writing from Finn's father's point of view. I'm so excited!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
As I downed my first beer, my new temporary woman, Brianna, started to kiss me. I pushed her away because I just wasn't in the mood. She tried again, and I said in a bored voice," Get off of me, I'm not in the mood," She then purposely made her extremely short skirt ride up, and tried seducing me, and I just got really angry. "Get the fuck off me you bitch!" I bellowed. Brianna looked appalled. "I said that I'm not in the mood, so stop seducing me. In fact, why don't you just get the fuck out of my house!"Brianna looked shocked and angry, and then proceeded to try and make a sweeping exit, but failed because she tripped on her 8 inch stilettos.I angrily ran my hand through my hair and chugged down another beer. Finn then came downstairs from his room, and tried confronting me. " How dare you disrespect my mom, your wife! You loved her with all your heart, and now you're throwing away a loving relationship for multiple one night stands!" He shouted in his eight year old voice. He then whispered to me, looking like he didn't know if he wanted to know the answer,"Did you even love her?"
The truth be told, I did. But if I admitted that out loud, that would just make the gaping hole in my heart even bigger. So, instead, I replied,"No. Actually, I never loved her. She meant absolutely nothing to me." I let out a humorless chuckle. "NOTHING!" I bellowed. I was really depressed, but I found it easier to blame people than to confront myself. So, I took out all my anger on Finn. I slapped him with all the force I could muster, and took my belt and whipped him. "If you ever mention her ever again, your going to wish you were never born." I said in a threatening voice.
Then, of course, he then proceeded to disrespect me and be defiant by confronting me about the woman I loved, the woman I still love."GET OUT!" I bellowed. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I couldn't bear to see him anymore because he reminded me too much of his mother. The same cyan eyes with swirls of gray that looked like clouds on a clear day, the same dark hair, and last but not least, the loyal personality. He reminded me so much of the woman I was trying with all my might to forget. However, deep down, I knew that I would never forget her.
Because I couldn't bear to see Finn anymore, I kicked him out of the house. He looked so scared and devastated, but the worst thing I saw was the disappointment in his eyes. When Finn's mother was still alive, I always aspired to be a fatherly figure to him. I would go out and throw a football with him. I would stare at the clouds with him and stare until it grew dark. Then we would stare at the stars together until he fell asleep. I would then proceed to carry him to his room and tuck him in even though he was asleep. However, there was no hope of that anymore. The damage was done. I sat alone at the table and my mind wandered. And it wandered to the woman that I was trying so hard to forget.
"Do you take the soon to be Mrs. Laurel to be your lawfully wedded wife, to help her through sickness and through health, and eternally love her and only through death do you part?" The priest asked. "I do," I said, staring into her beautiful cyan grey eyes. "Then you may now kiss the bride." He announced. I gently kissed her, putting as much passion into it as I could. We pulled apart for air and everyone cheered. My best man, my brother Phillip, patted me on the back. It was the best day of my life.
"I'm pregnant!" My wife exclaimed, squealing with excitement. "I'm going to be a mom and you're going to be a dad!" "What should we name him," I asked eagerly, for her excitement was contagious. "We should name him Finn, after the first pet we had together if it's a boy, and Rose if it's a girl, because that's the first thing you gave me." The soon to be mother exclaimed. "Well then, it's settled. I'm so excited!" I replied.
"It's a boy! " The doctor exclaimed. "We'll name it Finn." My wife said, crying happy tears. "Congratulations," The doctor said. "It's a healthy baby," "I love you and will forever love you." My wife whispered quietly to Finn. "I love you, Finn." I whisper quietly into his ear as I kiss his forehead.
"I do."
"I'm pregnant!"
"I love you, Finn."I want Finn to know that I love him, and I love my wife too. And I will until the day I die.
