The Knight awoke within the temple of the black egg. He was confused as to why he was chained up. Oh wait, because he was the next hollow knight. He glanced to the side of the room and saw Hornet, his sister, sleeping. "Hornet... Hornet!" She jerked awake.

"What Ghost? Wait, GHOST! I'm not supposed to be in here! Wait, why am I in here?"

"You don't remember? We fought the Hollow Knight, the temples seals started chaining me up, and you were knocked out! Wait, where is the Hollow Knight? Did we kill him, or did he survive?"

"Um, guys, I'm right here" THK said, making them jump.

"Hollow?" Hornet and The Knight both said at once.

"Yeah, I've been locked in here for the last 1,000 years watching you guys sleep! I was about to stab myself with my own nail, the one thing father did right!" The Knight glanced down at his own pure nail. It had fallen out of his hands when we was being chained up. "So? How have you guys been? any cool dreams?"

"Yeah! I had a dream where I had a billion geo, and I spent it on buzz shaws!" Hornet said.

"Hornet, what is up with you and Shaws-I mean saws!? The Knight Shrieked. "And guys, can you get me out of these chains? I'm practically choking! Don't worry, I killed the Radiance with my dark thoughts. She's pretty dead."

"Ok." Hornet replied stepping toward him. "Hollow, are you gonna help me?"

"Yeah, I need my nail, where is it?" Hollow's nail was chucked aside under some rubble. He stepped toward it  and noticed some pieces of metal near it. "Oh no, my nail is broken, that blast of infection destroyed it!" He yelled. He fell to the ground as if it were his own fault.

"For the love of Godseeker! will you just be quiet! It's just a nail, we can fix it. Ghost, you spoke of a nailsmith." Hornet said.

"Yeah but he's dead." The Knight replied.

"WHAT! The only nail smith in all of Hallownest is dead! What killed him?" Hornet asked.

"Ummmm, I have no idea." The Knight said like he DID know.

"Oh come on, you know what killed him don't you?" Hornet said.

"Fine. It was...it was...it was me!" The Knight said shamefully.

"WHAT! You!? Why'd you do it!? Hornet questioned.

"Because he told me to! Once he upgraded my nail to a pure one, he told me to kill him. He said he wanted to taste its fine blade." The Knight exclaimed full of regret.

"That's sad and all, but I need my nail to get around Hallownest safely without getting ambushed by a ton of bugs who aren't even infected but driven mad by other crazy random junk!" Hollow stated dramatically.

"Holy corpse creepers! Hollow! We are talking about a guy that died! can you have some compassion! Oh, and also be nice to your siblings. Ghost didn't do anything wrong." Hornet argued.

"Oh yeah? Well what if your needle was broken, and the only nail smith in the entire kingdom was dead, and you had no way to defend yourself!" Hollow yelled.

"Then I would travel to another kingdom!" Hornet argued back.

As the two argued back and forth, The Knight's eyes lit up."Guys! I know how to fix it!"

        "I'm listening." Hollow said.

"I have this friend named Jiji, who does magic and stuff. She has this spell that can bring a bug back from the dead!" The Knight exclaimed. "Lets talk to her! But first you have to get these chains off of me."

"Ok." Hornet stepped towards the Knight, needle in hand.

"How are you supposed to break pale ore?" The Knight Questioned.

"uh like this." Hornet said as she wrapped silk around each of the chains. Then she charged away from them and they clattered to the floor, releasing The Knight. He grabbed his pure nail off of the ground. His reflection gleamed boldly on the metal.

"Alright, let's go to Jiji." Said The Knight proudly.
