LOUIS' eyes scanned the room as he leaned on a wall, with will and freya dancing near him to some random song that was playing extremely loudly. the party was full of a bunch of horny teenagers all jumping around and screaming to music, drinking alcohol or playing some sort of party games.

there had been no sign of lily or tom all night, though tom's friends' presences were very obvious. they were the loudest in the room, shouting unwanted compliments at random girls and cheering whilst pouring beer on each other. louis had to physically restrain himself from pulling a face of disgust at them.

as he was watching the people around him, he noticed the group of tom's friends getting louder as they cheered about something near the kitchen. louis curiously looked over and spotted tom laughing at his friends and grabbing a beer, holding lily's hand at the same time. lily seemed quite awkward in the situation, uncomfortably laughing at his friends and looking around at her surroundings.
' want a drink?' tom turned to look at her.
' um,' lily scanned his friends' faces, ' no thank you.'
groans erupted from tom and his friends, ' come on! it's just one drink.' his friend, jack insisted.
' just one.' tom told her, and she felt quite uncomfortable with all of the boys' eyes on her and so she finally nodded.
' okay, just one.' she agreed quietly. tom poured some sort of drink into a plastic cup and handed it to her. lily furrowed her eyebrows and opened her mouth to ask tom what the drink was, when she realised he had left her and walked off with his friends.

she sniffed her drink and predicted that it was some kind of vodka lemonade, looking around at the other partygoers. soon, her eyes locked with louis' from across the room, who was leaning on a wall and staring at her. the drink tasted bitter and burnt her throat as she took a sip, making her way over to him.

' hey.' she said.
' hi.' louis responded, looking at the cup in her hands, ' i thought you said you don't drink at parties.'
lily's eyes drifted down to her drink and she stared at it for a moment, her small smile faltering at his slightly bitter tone, ' it's just one drink. won't do any harm.' she reassured, and louis was about to say more when freya wrapped her arms around lily and planted a kiss on her cheek.
' hey!' the blonde girl grinned, clearly drunk. lily laughed at her as will walked over, ' sorry about her. i told her not to drink but she obviously didn't listen.' he chuckled.

freya rolled her eyes playfully at will and swayed slightly from side to side as lily held her upright and asked how many drinks she had.
' two, three... four? i can't remember! anyway, are you here with tom?' freya wiggled her eyebrows comically and made a kissy face.
'yes, i'm here with him.' she turned around to try and spot her boyfriend, but he must have left the room, ' i think he's just talking to his friends.' she forced a smile as she turned back.

louis observed the way that lily bit the inside of her cheek as she stared down at her drink, avoiding meeting his eyes.

' i'm going to the bathroom.' freya announced, raising her voice to be heard over the loud music.

' okay.' lily smiled, ' see you in a bit.'

freya placed her drink down and walked off in search of a bathroom, with william quick to follow her and keep an eye out for her.

lily took another sip of her drink and winced at the burn of the strong alcohol as it went down her throat. louis looked at her as she placed her drink on a nearby table and fiddled with her rings absentmindedly, her eyes searching the room for her boyfriend.

' can we talk?' louis spoke up, not moving his gaze away from her. lily hesitantly turned to face him and nodded.

' yeah, sure.' she agreed, looking up at him, ' do you wan-'

lily was interrupted by tom's voice from across the room calling for her. she turned around immediately and waved so that he could see where she was, then moved back to face louis again.
