Jeremy was on the bow waiting for his superior to give him orders and his friend named Geoffrey came. “Hey, you’ve been silent recently. What’s up with you?” he said. “Nah. Nothing, just a picture of someone dear to me.” Jeremy said. “Oh? Let me see.” He replied. “So who is this beautiful lady? Man, she’s beautiful.” Geoff continued. Jeremy stood up and walked towards the railings on the ship’s bow and became silent momentarily while watching the dolphins swimming along the ships’ route. “It all started that night a few months back.” Jeremy said while leaning against the railings. After saying those words, Jeremy began remembering the things happened that night. That’s right he thought. It all began that night at St. Peter’s Chapel in Valderama, Iligan City. Jeremy attended the last vigil of his Tita and seated in the front adjacent to the main door of the chapel along with his childhood friend. Moments later, a group of ladies came in; Jeremy didn’t notice that his cousin Janessa was one of those ladies. However, he did notice a very dashing girl, beauty with simple characteristics. They sitted on the back side but on the same column where Jeremy was seated.
“So, you’re saying you met this girl in that place?” Geoffrey asked. Jeremy nodded. At that time, he made up his mind that he should be able to acquire her cell phone number. To make it happen, he has to talk to her cousin who’s been with her. When her cousin came over their area, Jeremy immediately asked, “Hey, Janessa. Who’s that beautiful girl over there? Is she your classmate?” Janessa has this look in her eyes that is proud of her companion’s beauty. “Ahm. Not really, we were classmates’ way back we’re still in high school. Now, she already graduated and a licensed Midwife.” He was stunned by those words thinking that at such a young age, already a licensed midwife. “By the way, her name is Natasha.” Janessa said while walking away smiling. Several minutes have passed; Jeremy took the chance to have a glimpse on the beauty sitting just behind his back. He has this urge to approach them but a part of him was telling him not to. When the group finally went outside and sat in the lobby, Jeremy took the opportunity of acquiring a better view of Natasha by pretending to walk outside the building to catch fresh air. It was already 11 o’clock when he did this over and over again just to have a glimpse of such a rare beauty. He noticed that all of them have fallen asleep but apparently, one of them was awake. Geoffrey listening to him, suddenly laughed out loud and said, “Dude, you seriously did that?” Jeremy got what Geoffrey was talking about and continued his narration.
The long night had passed and the day of the burial came, all were crying and grieving. For the loved Tita was no more. After the long and tiring burial rites have finished, Jeremy along with his childhood friend Shiela, and his cousin Janessa went to his house to rest and eat. The three of them just ate and cracked jokes at each other but Jeremy never forgotten to ask Janessa for Natasha’s cell phone number. Janessa on the other hand wanted to help him but was waiting for Natasha’s approval. No other choice but to wait, Jeremy thought. Few hours later, Janessa finally gave him Natasha’s cell phone number. The good thing was Jeremy is fond of unlimited texts to all networks promo so texting Natasha who happened to be another network subscriber is just a walk in the park. That night Natasha replied to him and there goes the long conversation that took hours of long and at times, non- sense topics.
“Dude, you sure talk a lot. And seriously, your topic was just like that?” Geoffrey asked. “Yeah. I didn’t even know what we were talking about. “Jeremy said while grinning. Geoffrey sat on the floor saying, “I have to admit, enduring those long hours of texting with out of nowhere topics is not easy.” Jeremy smiled and sat beside Geoffrey.
He thought, it was not actually hard to keep up with those out of nowhere topics. He liked Natasha so much since he saw her that night. They had this conversation about a juice because Natasha was on a bad mood, Jeremy at his best tried to make her laugh by texting. It was indeed a nonsense topic but it was sure a fun one. Janessa on the other hand just stared at him in disbelief. “Hey. Is this for real?” Janessa asked. “About what? About our conversation?” Jeremy said laughing. “Yeah! Exactly. You were like. Urgh..talking non-sense.” Janessa replied. His phone rang, and smiled while reading. “There! There! You’re caught in the act. Smiling while texting. Checked! You like her.” She continued. “Wait. What?” Jeremy answered in surprise. Jeremy just continued texting for a few more minutes and his cousin continued surfing the net in her laptop.
