Nala's POV
The last twenty minutes have been hell, dry heaving over a trashcan next to my bed is not how I wanted to spend my Sunday. I got a few hours of sleep but not enough. After I finally gather enough strength I head toward the kitchen for a glass of water. I grab my phone off the side table in the livingroom as I pass it. As I grab a glass from the strainer, I try pushing the foggy memories from last night together. Strip poker? I believe I remember playing strip poker, I don't even know how to play regular poker? "Fuck." I moan while I turn the water off and fumble my way into the living room and take a seat. The leather couch feels good against my clammy skin. I unlock my phone and check my text messages.
Louis: Hey Doll, Hungover?
Louis: You left your clothes over here. Swing by around 5.
I check the time at the top of the screen. 2:15, I have a few hours before I have to swing by Louis' house so I might try and do something today. I don't have much food left in the house so I think I'll swing by the store and pick up and few things.
While I walk around the market I decide I'll have to come back. My stomach has settled down and I'm starving . My mom used to always tell me to never shop on a hungry stomach, that is when she was still around... I put the basket away and stroll around the quite town for a place to eat. After 5 minutes or so of walking around I find a subway next to a hair salon. I pass by the hair place and practically run into subway.
I take my time switching back and forth between playing on my phone and eating, but I'm walking out the door within half an hour. I put my phone in the back pocket of my jeans and began to walk to the market, but I can't stop my feet from marching into the salon next door.
"Hey, Just one second and I'll be with you" the tall blue haired lady said while sweeping up the hair piled on the floor. She's done within a matter of seconds, as she walks to the register I began to look her up and down. She has a nose ring in the same side as mine and he bright yellow eye shadow make me question why I even came in here.
"How can I help you today?" The lady ask me as she wipes her hands on her apron.
"How much is a trim?" I look around the place, it looks nice.
"How much are you looking to get taken off? Your hair is beautiful."
"Just a little. An inch or so."
"Any color as well?"
I want to say no but my mouth won't allow it. My brain is screaming no, I love my long brown hair but my mouth slips and ask "How much?"
"Darling for you how about fifty in all?"
All I have is seventy-five for food, I could last a couple weeks off of noodles, again. "Sure, alright. Let's do it." I follow the lady, Jen, who keeps blabbering about how amazing I'd look with blue hair, to the back to look at color swatches. After a couple hours of listen to Jen ramble on about her high school we are finally done. I haven't got to look at my hair since she started and as she curls the last piece I'm beginning to second think dying my hair, to late now. When she turns the chair I am surprised at myself. It actually looks good. Who would have thought Nala Banks would look good as a blonde? I smile at myself and thank the lady for the awesome job she did. It's now 5:13 and Louis' house is about a half hour drive, so I delay shopping and text Louis.
Nalla: I'll be there soon. I'm running a little late. Sorry.
What if he had things to do and I'm holding him up. Oh god. I need to hurry. As I reach my car my phone sets off a little ding.
Louis: Don't worry Doll, take your time and be careful it's going to storm soon.
I hum along to the radio as I make my way to Louis'. I love the rain, but hate it. I hate driving in it but I love everything else about it. As soon as I think that it begins to storm. Like not just rain, but pour. I'm about 10 miles away from my destination, I can do this. I keep driving but I began to grow nervous as a car pulls behind me and rides my ass. Any other fucking time, but nope it has to be when it's raining, how great. I turn off the radio and try to focus on the road that's growing harder and harder to see. The rain is so thick and this asshole is so close, but before I know it they're trying to pass me. On a double lined road. In the heavy rain. While on a hill. How dumb can they be? My palms began to sweat and I'm growing scared. I'm never scared, until now.
It all happened too fast. I began to try and get out of the car but the door won't open. I climb over to the passenger side and push at the door, the limbs of the trees make it hard to get it open but when I do I fall onto the ground. I want to cry but I simple just can't. I searched for my phone for a while but no luck finding it. Those fucking pricks. As soon as he tried to pass a car had to be coming over the hill and on top of all that I was the only car to be fucked up. My car is now almost as fucked up as my life great. I snicker at my little inside joke, despite the situation. As I walk in the pouring rain along this long road a set of headlights appear behind me shining through the rain.
"Hey!" A deep british accent yells from behind me. This can't get any worse.
"Heeey" I drag out the word as I turn around to find Harry leaning out of his truck. I barley remember last night, I do remember him and us swimming but I can't manage to pull our conversation of last night.
"Nala?!?" His face is priceless. I almost forgot I colored my hair.
"That's me"
"Looks like you need a ride? That was your car back there wasn't it?"
I nod my head and began to walk toward the truck. I stepped in a couple water puddles on my way, but I guess I'm still alive. As soon I reach the truck I hop in and look toward Harry, who is starring at me like he had never seen a human before.
"You've changed?"
"I just colored my hair..." I paused taking a deep breath in, but it's quickly changed into me sucking in the air through my teeth. There is a sharp pain in my side and I can't help but the lift me shirt up.
"Fuck" I groan as I hold my stomach.
