I meant to say, "I need to be able to pass you off as a prince or some rich kid and you arn't handsome enough no offence! You are a really great person though and I would like to be friends!" SO HOW DID THAT COME OUT SO WRONG????

TEN YEARS LATER, ON THE SAME DATE

YOUR POV

You were walking some from school and about to head into your house when you suddenly heard a voice.

"Took you long enough. I was waiting here for a long time, you know."

"W-who are you?"

"Do you seriously not remember me?", the figure said. They were wearing a hat so you couldn't see their face.

"U-uh? Am I supposed to? Also I can't see your face!"

You fell the figure pushing you against the wall around your home.

"And I was thinking about you the whole time too. Y/n, it's me, Ace."

"A-Ace? Wha- but you look so different!"

You studied his face closely. To be honest, he did look a bit like Ace. The same out-of-control black hair, the same freckles, everything was the same.  Besides from the fact that he was handsomer.

You felt your heart skip a beat. 

"I-I guess it really is you," You say, blushing a bit. 

"So did I win the bet?"

"Do you actually like me? I'm pretty sure I came across as a spoiled brat that day..."

"You did. But that wasn't like you. I love you more than a single bad thing can undo."

"O-oh... Well, you had won the bet ten years ago, dummy." You say, blushing some more.

"hUh?" Ace asked, clearly confused.

"I mean, I already loved you, It was just thatIhadtobeabletopassyouoffasaprinceorwhateversomyparentswouldagreetoit!"

"I still don't know what you're saying. Say that again, but slower"

You took a deep breath. "I said, I already liked you, but I needed to be able to pass you off as a prince or a rich guy or whatever for my parents to agree with you being with me,"

Ace blushed. It was the first time you'd seen him do that since his first unexpected confession ten years prior. 

"So it was mutual this whole time? Could've told me that sooner," He mumbled.

"Sorry."

"So you wouldn't mind if i did this, right?"

Suddenly, he kissed you. 

*Note: Ace still has you against the wall, so you were only a few inches away from his face in the first place*

After waiting a few seconds, you broke away. You were blushing like crazy at this point, and you couldn't process your thoughts properly.

"I-I-I- don't mind b-but I need to get back or my parents are going to start worrying about m-me..."

With that, you ducked under his arm and started running towards your house.

I'm glad he still loves me though... 

ACE POV

Did I come on too strong? Was she surprised by the kiss? Shit, did I scare her?

*PING!*

THIRD PERSON

Ace heard his phone get a notification. It's y/n. He knew Luffy gave her my number, but was his first text from her!

It read, 

"Ace, I love you. Thank you for loving me even though I acted like a spoiled brat. If you want to continue where we left off, meet me there at midnight.

-y/n"

He smiled and sent you a message saying:

"I know who's texting me, you don't need to put your name, y/n"

END
