Seungkwan leaves with a final parting smile, and a minute later Vernon hears the front door open then slam shut with a resolve that shakes the entire brownstone. After climbing out of bed, Vernon pulls the drapes back and watches Seungkwan walk in the direction of the metro station, pushing his earbuds into his ears. It's a stormy day, the sky blanketed in thick rain clouds, though it doesn't appear the rain has started yet. A squall rushes down the street, sending Seungkwan's hair and scarf billowing back.
And if Vernon had known, somehow, in that moment, that that would be the last time he'd ever see Seungkwan again, he'd have said anything else. He'd have chased Seungkwan all the way to the train station. He'd have kissed Seungkwan's forehead and mouth and cheeks and he'd have said don't go. He'd have said I love you.
But all he said was goodbye, and watched Seungkwan walk away.

this is genuingly the best verkwan story I've read till date. my heart feels so full. usually in angst with a happy ending stories like this, the angst is rally heavy and the happy ending is great but not enough to remove the pain that we just felt but damn this was good. we actually got a whole other half of story and conclusion was absolutely amazing. SO SO SO happy with this.
