You sighed as you walked into the sleek, modern office building of Tokyo's most prestigious marketing firm. At twenty-six, you were a rising star in the world of advertising, and your determination burned as brightly as the neon lights that illuminated the city at night. But one thing continued to cast a shadow over your professional life Geto Suguru.

You have known each other since your teenage years, growing up in the same neighbourhood. Fate had a curious way of weaving their lives together, even if it seemed determined to keep them at odds. You had never been friends, not exactly, but you weren't strangers either. You couldn't quite put your finger on why his interactions were always tinged with tension and irritation.

As you stepped into the elevator, you couldn't help but recall your most recent encounter. It had been at the company's annual gala, where their bickering had reached a crescendo, culminating in a heated argument in front of their colleagues and superiors. The memory still stung, and you were determined to avoid Geto at all costs today.

Geto, on the other hand, shared your sentiment. He had always been ambitious, and his climb up the corporate ladder mirrored your own ascent. Despite your shared history, your interactions had become more volatile over the years. Geto had never been one to back down from a challenge, and you seemed to be a constant source of it.

Today, as you settled into your sleek office, you were determined to focus on your work and let Geto be Geto. The tension between you and him was there, but not always at the forefront. It was as if you were two magnets, drawn together by an inexplicable force, yet repelled by your stubborn pride.

As the day unfolded, your solution was put to the test. You both crossed paths in the break room, gazes locking for a moment before you both looked away, words unspoken but tension thick in the air. Later, in a meeting, you both clashed over a marketing strategy, each defending your own ideas with fervor..

It wasn't until late in the afternoon, when you both found themselves alone in the elevator, that the simmering tension reached its breaking point. The elevator jerked to a halt, and the lights flickered briefly before plunging them into semi-darkness.

You let out an exasperated sigh, your irritation bubbling to the surface. "Great, just what I needed," you muttered under your breath. Geto rolled his eyes, his frustration mirroring yours.

"Don't blame me for this. I didn't sabotage the elevator." The confined space and the shared annoyance seemed to amplify their mutual discontent. Both of you glared at each other in silence, both animosity simmering just below the surface.

But then, unexpectedly, Geto broke the tension with a rueful chuckle. "You know, Y/N, we really can't be in the same room without fighting, can we?"

Your lips quirked into a reluctant smile. "No, we can't. It's like we're cursed or something."

Your response caused him to chuckle in agreement slightly letting out a soft laugh, you never expected him to laugh at something so simple especially since it was you. Why was he laughing if he thought of you as an irritating person? A small but noticeable blush spread across your face..why? you thought why am i blushing? luckily he wasn't standing directly in front of you to see what only a simple laugh from him caused to happen to you but he stood to the left side of your body.

By the time the elevator was finally repaired and the both of you stepped out onto your respective floors, the tension that had defined their relationship for so long had shifted. It was still there, but it was no longer the dominant force.

Instead, there was a flicker of something else—understanding, maybe even a hint of camaraderie. Little did you know that this unexpected encounter would mark the beginning of a journey that would challenge their perceptions of each other and lead them down a path you both never expected, from bickering adversaries to something more complex and, perhaps, even something sweeter.
