Today, I woke up around 11 AM to Joao already giving me a call.
"Yes?" I answers as I heard a bunch of shuffling in the background from the other side of the call.
"Kirara! I was wondering if you wanted to go to this cafe with me. I know you have work so after the cafe, I would just drop you off at work." Joao said.
"Uhhh, I'm not sure. It's already pretty late. I have to clock in by 12:45." I replied not being so sure about the idea. It was a good one, but still. I can't risk losing that job. That job might suck, but it actually pays pretty well so.
"Ki, pleaseeeeee. I beg you. I would do ANYTHING." He said.
"Ugh, fine. You always get me to agree." I said giving in cause who could resist to spend time with a handsome guy like Joao? Yesterday I literally went to sleep late cause I was making a Pinterest board of him. Don't tell him I did that.
"Thank you! I'll pick you up i'm about... 15 minutes! Is that okay?" He asks as I agree.
"Yeah, I'll see you in 15." I said while ending the call after.
I put down my phone and quickly start getting ready since I only have 15 minutes. I picked out my outfit and got into it before I started during my hair. I did a simple half up half down. After, I did a little bit of makeup since I barely had time, I also packed my work stuff since I'm going to be at work straight after the cafe trip.
When I was doing my final thing, which was putting on perfume, I heard the door bell ring. I went up to the door and opened it to see Joao standing. He was so cute. He was wearing a simple white shirt with some shorts and sunglasses.
"Hey." Joao said to strike up a small conversation.
"Hi." I replied as I quickly gathered up my stuff and locked my door to go down the stairs of my apartment to Joao's apartment. It was so weird seeing Joao's nice car in my ghetto apartment. I was getting scared that one day somebody was gonna take Joao's car. But his car isn't gonna be outside for that long so it's whatever.
"So, you never told me that this was your actual apartment building." Shoot, I forgot about that.
"Oh, you found out?" I chuckled nervously as I tried to keep my face away from him. That was kind of embarrassing.
"Why did you lie to me Kirara? You know I would never judge you." Joao says sincerely as we both get inside his car. I stopped for a moment before replying.
"Sorry. I don't even really know," I shrugged. "I just thought you will judge me if I told you that this ghetto apartment was where I lived." I sighed as Joao picks up my chin and makes me look at him in the eyes. I liked the color of his eyes. It was so beautiful.
"Kirara, listen to me. I just want you to know that I would never judge you from your environment. You have a small house? It's okay. You don't have a big budget? It's okay. You don't have a nice car? It's okay. I really don't care, Kirara. I will only judge you based on your personality. Never on your environment. So from next time, I want you to stop lying to me about these stuffs and be honest, okay?" He said as those brown eyes looked up into my dark brown eyes.
"Okay. Sorry Joao." I apologized as Joao gave me a quick and small hug before turning the car into drive and getting out of my apartment parking lot. We were finally heading to the cafe and I was excited to see what kind of cafe there was. I never really got the chance to explore what was around my areas. I felt like it was always work work work, and work for me. But now that I have a friend, I want to explore more and learn more.
We were driving for about 10 minutes when we finally pulled into the parking lot of the cafe Joao was talking about. The sign said it just opened a few weeks ago. For a cafe that opened just a few weeks ago, a lot of people were present so I was excited to see what all that hype was about. We got out of the car and entered the cafe where we were greeted by a waiter and we followed him to our seat. We got the back seat cause I think he guessed that we wanted privacy by the looks of all the customers looking at Joao and me. Each of the seat had a window beside it where we can look at the view. even though we were at the back, the view was still beautiful. We were able to see the wonderful garden which was filled with flowers. It was so pretty I just had to take a picture of it. I might post it on my instagram later.
I put my phone down on the side of the table and looked up at Joao. He was staring at the window but once he noticed me looking at him, he turned to look at me.
"Hi Kirara." He said as he smiled cheekily.
"Hi Joao." I replied as I smiled back at him.
"I wish we could hangout more after this." He said as I frowned a little.
"We can always hangout next time. I'm not leaving any time soon." I said as the waiter came back to take our order.
"Español or English?" He asked as I replied English. I know I have to start learning Spanish soon but give me a break.
"What would you guys like to order?" We both gave him our order as he retrieved our menus and went to go make it. We kept talking and talking until eventually our food arrived.
"This is really good." I said as I was devouring my whole food. Joao was also eating his food up as this was really good. Now I can see what the hype was all about.
Soon, all the fun came into an end. Joao had to drop me off at work and I had to clock in. This is gonna be a dreading workday. I am not looking forward to it.
When I clocked in, one of my co worker came over to me and showed me a news that was written about me and Joao.
"What the heck...?" I replied as I eyed the news on his phone.

Uhm, so maybe I would start off by apologizing first. I did not expect to be gone for this long. The last time I updated was September 23, 2023. It's June 9, 2024 rn so that's crazy. I started writing this like the beginning of the school year and now I'm finished. But anyways, I'm sorry I wasn't active it was because I just wasn't on Wattpad anymore. But now I'm back and I'm so excited to start writing more and reading more. I might be slow but trust me I will start writing more. Lowkey when I read this I was kind of cooking with the book so make sauce you stay tuned! Love you guys <3
