CHAPTER 2.
Dom.
The only sound I can hear in the room is the sound of my furious typing away on my keyboard. It's rhythmic sounds though loud enough, still didn't wake the woman sleeping right beside me.
Alaina Sullivan, Marcello Sullivan's only legitimate daughter.
Legitimate- considering the man didn't win any awards for his faithfulness to his only legal wife.
Marcello is a man-whore. That isn't news, but even he knew he couldn't marry any of his mistresses leaving Alaina as his only rightful heir, a situation I am sure none of his mistresses or their children are too happy about.
My phone suddenly rings, breaking away my thoughts of Mar cell Sullivan, or his beautiful princess who is right here, in my bed, her body all but begging me to take her, and I'd been close- way too close for my own good.
My father and Marcello have been friends way longer than I cared to imagine, all I know is, it was long before I was even born. When the two started their businesses, it was clear they weren't interested in the same things and it worried them that their families would have no tie to each other as they had to themselves so they thought of a way.
Not a way I liked to think about a lot, but the woman lying beside me, almost made me appreciate that way. They both decided to sign a very costly contract which stated their offsprings had to be engaged to each other in the event of their death.
I didn't like the contract one bit- especially as I had no will to tie down anyone to me, no matter what. This life isn't one I wished upon anyone, especially a woman as soft-looking as Alaina.
With bright blue eyes that turned stormy when she was mad, or drunk, and the fiercest shade of deep auburn hair, she didn't strike me as one who would take kindly to being tied down to anyone, especially someone like me.
Someone who had ties to dangerous places, dangerous people. Definitely not the kind she hung out with.
I try not to stare at her plump red lips as she slept, while they parted softly, a light snore escaping her lips. It's no news that Alaina has to be one of the most beautiful women I've laid eyes on- with a body that looked like it'd only been sculpted by Aphrodite herself, she could very well bring any man to his knees.
But I don't like to be controlled like that. My father has no right to choose who I get married to, even if it is the one woman I'd kill to have in my bed, yet here she is but I can't touch her.
Not only was she too drunk for whatever she had in mind last night to be accomplished, I also cant fall into a trap like that. I doubt Alaina even knows about our fathers plans, and would stay in the dark about the whole thing.
The contract thankfully has a clause I just recently found. While both parties were alive, the contract couldn't come into motion yet. I know it's a dumb clause but I intend to stretch it out until, I had a better solution for it.
Both parties are hale and hearty, thankfully, and until any of them passed, Alaina could be none the wiser about this contract. I shift my gaze away from her body and pick up the phone.
"Dominic." My father's voice reaches my ears from the other line. I love the old man, but lately hearing his voice on the phone has into brought me headache. He only ever calls to nag about meeting Alaina, something he doesn't know has already happened sadly.
"Father." I whisper trying not to wake her up. I decide to take the call to another room.
I didn't sleep with Alaina the last night, and it wasn't because I didn't want to- heaven knows when she'd pressed her plump lips to mine last night, with her body pressed on mine, I'd all but succumbed to her temptation.
