In the dimly lit hallway of the student dormitory, Ayanokoji stood in front of a door, hesitating for a moment before finally turning the doorknob. As the door creaked open, he was met with a familiar face, one he hadn't expected to see at this hour.

"Ayanokoji: Kei?"

Karuziwa, her expression a mixture of surprise and uncertainty, replied, "Kiyo..."

Before Karuziwa could finish her sentence, her gaze shifted, and she noticed another figure in the room, one that sent a pang of guilt through her.

Ichinose, who had been inside Ayanokoji's room, felt her face flush with guilt as she faced Karuziwa's presence.

Ichinose stammered, "I should leave, Ayanokoji-kun."

Ayanokoji, ever composed, broke the silence with a seemingly unrelated question, "You haven't had breakfast yet?"

Ichinose responded with a hurried tone, "No, no, Ayanokoji-kun. I remembered an important task I need to attend to."

Ayanokoji's expression remained unchanged as Ichinose quickly put on her shoes and left the room. Throughout this exchange, Karuziwa remained silent, her eyes shifting between the two.

Ayanokoji finally broke the silence, inviting Karuziwa inside, "Come in, Kei."

Karuziwa, her voice laced with a hint of insecurity, questioned, "So, I'm still useful to you?"

Ayanokoji, seemingly unfazed by her comment, responded with a calm demeanor, "What are you talking about?"

Karuziwa pressed on, her voice trembling slightly, "You called me 'Kei' because I'm still useful to you, right?"

Ayanokoji, with a hint of confusion, asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Karuziwa, her emotions bubbling to the surface, confronted him directly, "I mean, you broke up with me without any reason, and now I'm seeing you with Ichinose in your room. So, tell me, Kiyotaka, why did you break up with me?"

Ayanokoji thought to himself, noting her directness, "Hmm, she came straight to the point."

Ayanokoji finally replied, his tone unusually harsh, "I broke up with you because you're an idiot and useless now. I don't have any use for you, Kei."

Karuziwa's eyes welled up with tears as his words cut deep. She choked back her emotions and questioned, "What about when you said you loved me and kissed me?"

Inwardly, Ayanokoji steeled himself, thinking, "I need to be more firm with her."

Ayanokoji coldly retorted, "So what?"

Karuziwa, her voice filled with desperation, argued, "What do you mean, 'so what,' Kiyotaka? We kissed."

Ayanokoji, maintaining his composure, reminded her, "Stop it, Kei. We're not in ancient times where a single kiss leads to pregnancy and forces us to marry."

But Karuziwa persisted, her voice rising, "I want a proper reason why you broke up with me!"

She shouted in frustration, and Ayanokoji, now standing closer to her, reiterated, "I already said I don't have any use for you, Kei."

Karuziwa, her voice quivering, asked, "So now you're throwing me away because you don't have any use for me?"

Tears streamed down her face.

Ayanokoji, unflinching, confirmed, "Yes."

With that, Karuziwa turned and ran away from his room, sobbing uncontrollably. Ayanokoji watched her go, his thoughts focused on the necessity of this separation.
