Author's POV
As soon as she opened the door, her bag dropped onto the carpeted floor with a thud. She closed the door behind her and collapsed on the bed. Sighing heavily, she slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep. The first days are not always so easy. Atleast, for her.
It is mentally exhausting when you finally solve your problems but life already has your appointment with other problems fixed. First the family problems, then friends, and school. Destiny really liked kicking her ass.
Her past has been already pushed behind but still it haunted her thoughts. It always finds it way to haunt her. Not only it haunted her everywhere she went; it followed her.
She'd given up on her family, friends, supporters, and also on herself. She always felt like life just didn't want her to rest in peace at all. Nor was she able to rest neither was she ever in peace.
Moving away from your family seems easy. Starting a new life. Meeting new people. Meeting new destinies. It all seemed like a dream. Only in movies though. Moving away from your family in real life feels like you've been betrayed even if you're not. It feels like the people who you've loved all your life are letting go. If you're as unfortunate as she is.
It feels like they're letting you go.
You start to think whether they're more happy without you.
You start to think whether they're enjoying more without you.
You start to think whether they're laughing until they're stomachs ache without you.
You start to think whether they're finally going to all those places that they've planned with you without you.
You start to think whether they've finally got rid of you.

Waking up to her annoying alarm clock is the worst part of the day, irrespective of the time. She slowly opened her eyes, rubbing them with her knuckle to dust of the eye-crust covering her lashes. She walked infront of the mirror and noticed her puffed up face. "Again?" she heard a familiar voice say who turns out to be her aunt. She nodded slowly as she sits on her bed's edge. "I just can't seen to run away from them. I just can't! I can't do this every time I step outside. I can't even sleep in peace. It still haunts me in my dreams. I jus- I can't- I- Help- Can't breat-..."
And with that she fell unconscious on the floor. "Oh fuc-" Her aunt hurried towards the bathroom and came back with a bottle of pills. She quickly pulled out a syringe from the bed side drawer and took a glass of water a crushed three pills in it. She quickly mixed it and suctioned it into the syringe. She jabbed it onto the back of Sherlin's neck and injected the substance.

After what felt like hours, she woke up from her unconscious self. Her throat and mouth dry and begging for water. Reaching for the water bottle kept on the bed-side table felt like a thousand hammers hitting her body. Vision fogged up like morning at 5 A.M. Everything hurt. Her head. Her arms. Her face. Her body. And the worst of all. Her heart. Feeling defeated, she laid back down instead of calling out for her aunt. She knows that as much as she tries to help, she'll never be able to heal.
Recalling everything that had happened at school, she took the pillow which was beneath her head and covered her face with it. She let out a long groan, caused by the body ache she was experiencing and the memories of the day. Let's just say, she found her pen name....
"Mizery Latcher" she said, removing the pillow from her face and making direct eye-contact with aunt who was leaning on the door frame. "You knew I was standing there, right?" her stated. "That is going to be my pen name. And yes, I knew you were there."Sherlin remarked. "That's just stupid but your choice. It is kinda catchy though." Marg chuckled.
"How's the body pain?" She asked, caressing her hair softly. "It's fine now." She replied.

It's fine
The words that she always lied with. The words that always pleased the people around her. The words she never wanted to use but still did. The words she used to hide her pain. The words that no one asked about. The words that no one thought about.
