Chapter 3- InformationWaking up to a new day, Lauren turns around to a buzzing noise coming from the living room.
Assuming this would be the time for the meeting, Lauren quickly shifts out of bed to the living room of which she is going to be violently interrogated on.
When grabbing the banana shaped red telephone, the number that dialed hers has been finally answered.
"Hello, I'm assuming the person to whom I am speaking with is none other than Lauren, am I correct?"
"Yeah. Yeah, now whaddya want, fool?"
"Okay, answer me this, but honestly. Have you ever heard of someone with the name of Cipher K. Williams?"
"You talking about my ancestors? His name is in a history book, how could I not! He's a true hero."
"And so you're proud of that, eh?"
"If you already have all the information about Cipher, why ask me? I get he's my ancestor and all, but there's no way you possibly could've known that, especially right before this entire invitation thingy. And come to think of it, what's with you calling me on the telephone? What, you've got lack of communication or something?"
"Sorry, I just felt like changing my mind, but do you mind? I could still do this in person if you'd like."
"Nah, it's fine, just speak up, lad, you're wasting my precious morning breath."
"I see then, fine. I'll get to the point. Even though I only met you yesterday, I have a feeling that I could be in for something unknown and miraculous, or at least that's just in my gut feeling, but you know what they say, if you feel it in your gut, then that's your cue to follow it."
"Interesting, well then, sir detective, I do indeed have something that I feel you'd want to hear, it's a surreal topic, that's for sure, you don't gotta believe me, or you could call me delusional, hopefully you'll understand, even if it's only a little..."
"I'm all ears on this, ma'am."
"I was nothing more than a teen working for my father at the time, this surreal alien like thing is called a multi-creature, they're strange ones alright, but one thing you should know about them is that they love to be in the most random places of this world, just wanting to fit in with the rest of the people. Contrary to most beliefs in articles, books and stuff like that, they're an ancient creature that roamed around the earth billions of years ago, back before when dinosaurs even existed! And how you can tell if someone is in disguise as a human is when you sense a very strange negative aura surrounding them, and most the time, they babble things to make you terrified, strange, or confused so that they could experience some emotions of humans to really get what it's like to be one.
Jealousy is one way to describe them as, all they've ever wanted was to be like a human and to feel it. Sometimes, jealousy would get the better of them and go as far as to slaughter humans in mostly poor villages. They would choose a vessel of one that they think would be most suitable, and so, they'd control that human vessel, completely taking over the mentality of that vessel. The man you witnessed that I kicked out the other day was in-fact one of them. Libraries remind them of the villages, so that's the place they'd end up in, so I'm practically used to it by now.
Anywho, back to the story.
As I have mentioned before, they like to roam around in random settings, Michael, which was the name of the creature, was one of them.
Me and Michael were.. an ordinary pair, that's for sure. It all started when I was out in the barn feeding the horses, when I suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes near where the sheep were. Assuming it would be a fox, I ran to my fathers shed where there was plenty of weapons stacked inside of boxes and outside of the boxes hanging on poles. I grabbed a pistol, and ran to the sheep's little yard. I was waiting patiently for the animal to come out so that I could aim my pistol to shoot it, but instead of what I was expecting, I saw none other than an ordinary man with his hand above his head and looking into my eyes, dazed of whatever.
I let out a sigh of relief, knowing it wouldn't mean danger for the sheep. I lowered my weapon and asked the mysterious person if there was a reason for being inside of my fathers barn. Nope, nothing.
I got extremely irritated, just looking at the person with innocent eyes looking back at me, which was what was going to drive me over my limit, cause you see. I absolutely hate bastards that think that ignoring someone is okay, because it's not!"
"Okay, calm down, calm down. I get your anger, really, but you're telling me your past with this creature, so please settle down."
"Fine. Even though they looked as if they did nothing wrong, there's no way that they didn't know what the situation was, and that's where I ended up being wrong.
But still, ever since that, they would come out of the bushes, only to look back at me with curiosity, they never even uttered a single word to me, which only intrigued me even more. It became a daily routine, I wake up, feed the animals, try making small talk with the mysterious person, then ponder throughout the night of them.
All this act eventually had us become a thing after a few years, and how we became more than friends is pretty complicated, even though he can't speak.
But, what I haven't known is that it's forbidden for a multi-creature and human to be together, and I'm sure they knew that, but just didn't bother telling me, considering they couldn't speak or write.
Even though Michael was immortal since all multi-creatures happen to live for eternity, they were put on a curse for disobeying the tradition of love-type relationships.
Once the curse was displayed onto him, that's when we knew that everything were to end. You could say that instead of immortality, it would eventually become mortality.
So, we would both be waiting until they turned mortal, and eventually, they had killed Michael without me knowing.
I witnessed the gruesome scene of their dead body on one cold night, and it happened to be laying still on the grass next to where the bush of when I met him. And so, the curse then transferred onto me, except I then became immortal, proof? I'm 289 years old, you could check my documents for all I care.
"Wow. What a beautiful love story, I'm speechless. Love really is something, huh."
"Yeah, you don't say.."
