Awakenings

Naruto POV

Why?

That was the question running through my mind as I ran from the bloodthirsty villagers through the streets of Konoha. Why did they have to do this to me, especially on my birthday?

As I was caught up in my thoughts I hadn't realised that I had run into an alley, trapping me and preventing further escape. As I frantically looked around the mob cornered me. This the torture began, with each villager taking their turn to beat me while shouting at my trembling body.

"THAT'S FOR MY WIFE DEMON!"

'Who is your wife, what did I do to her?'

"THIS IS FOR MY SON YOU BASTARD DEMON!"

'I didn't do anything to your son.'

"TODAY WE'LL FINISH WHAT THE YONDAIME STARTED!"

'I don't know any of you.. I didn't do anything.. why..'

"WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO?!"

None of them responded as before their eyes something happened that chilled them to their bones..

Kakashi POV

I had messed up. That was an understatement to the predicament I had gotten Naruto into. I was supposed to protect him but had asked him to stay in his apartment whilst I went to do something. I should've know that the kid would do something like this but but the latest release of the Icha Icha series was none to be ignored.

However on my way back to his apartment I felt something that I had felt before, an overwhelming chakra that filled me with fear. Something I had felt years ago when I lost my beloved Sensei and Mother Figure. The chakra of the Kyubi, and something else. A smaller chakra but it seemed much more dangerous. When I arrived at the scene my blood ran cold. There stood Naruto, his many wounds being healed by the Nine Tails, but the other chakra was coating him standing still as though daring the villagers to try again.

Naruto POV

I opened my eyes to see the many wounds on me healing and a wall of silver surrounding me keeping the villagers away.

'wha-whats happening to me?'

'Calm down kit, your fine. However we can't give you more chakra than this.'

'Who are you, how can I hear you?'

'We'll explain later dear, for now push some of the chakra we've given to your eyes. Do it now!'

I followed what the voice told me to and I felt something happen to my eyes, they where tingling and the area around it began to warm up. I opened my eyes and when I opened my eyes I could see that my left hand was coated in some kind of silver energy and it had multiple kanji on it.

"The demon's escaping! Kill it!"

With that the ninja hidden in the crowd threw hundreds of shuriken that seemed to multiply mid air. Acting on instinct I held my hand out and one of the kanji glew and the wall stopped all the projectiles before they fell to the floor.

'Kit, push your chakra to your back quickly!'

I followed their instructions and suddenly 4 glowing blue chain emerged from my back, tipped with a curved dagger the length of my forearm. When I saw the villagers approaching I held my bare hand out and the chains whipped forward and slashed at them, causing them to all turn tail and run.

This was just as well as the energy left me causing me to fall to the ground as I slipped into unconsciousness I faintly heard someone call my name.
