Dear reader!

First, I want to thank you so much for reading my short story "Romeo and Juliet" until the very end. I hope you enjoyed it. Every Read, every vote and every comment means so much to me.

The story of Fred and Juliet has been in my head for what must be at least a few years. Yet it took me three takes to write it down. The original story was called "A Quarter Veela" and it was about when Juliet and Fred had met during the Triwizard Tournament and fell in love (it was practically the story I summarised in the first chapter).

The second take was called "The French Girl" and there, Juliet hadn't been allowed to go to Scotland for the Triwizard Tournament as she had been a year too young to take part. She decided to do an exchange in Hogwarts the year later as her sisters had told her how wonderful Hogwarts was (Gabrielle was allowed to go to the Tournament because she was used in the second task, as you probably know).

Both takes ended in writer's block because I only had it in my head how they fell in love and what happened in the end. Not everything that was in between. So I thought: Why not make a short story out of how the original story would have ended?

The fact that Juliet is the main character's name is a complete coincidence but I then realised that a "Romeo & Juliet" theme fitted the short story perfectly.

Now all I have left to say is thank you for reading again and have a nice day!

Lots of love,
Amy
