CHAPTER 1

"Vivian!"

-- as vivian was making her way through the hallway, she heard her bestfriend- Nicole, call her. She turned and heaved a heavy sigh of relief, " there you are! i've been looking all over the place for you." she smiled as they gave each other the warmest hug. They haven't seen each other for quite a while but nevertheless, their closeness never wavered.

They have been bestfriends for as long as they could remember. And living far apart from each other and being in two different schools was never a factor to resolve for them -- they always had their cellular phones to use anytime, anyway! they chat and call each other for as long as they could to catch up on each other's busy life.

Vivian - an asian brunette- is a small, pretty and fair-complexioned skinny 17 year-old senior high school student in a middle-class private school just some distance away from her house, while Nicole, on the other hand is a small and pretty- half-caucasian-half-asian 16 year- old blonde junior high school in a prominent school in her own hometown. And living socially-different was never an issue to even put a gap between them.

"Nicole! I have something to tell you! " Vivian whispered, while trying to hold her excitement.

"duh?!" Nicole said holding both her hands up in the air, "i was trying to chat with you last night but you seemed to be busy chatting with somebody else. hmm...so, who is it?" Nicole giggled and squeezed her hand.

"oh well, there's a guy who asked me last night if i wanted to join a group chat." Vivian said non-challantly, "But you know how i hated group chats, right?"

"well,yeah...so?" Nicole answered.

"so, he asked if he could talk to me privately...and i said - okay!" Vivian shrugged.

"details please!" nicole shrieked, unable to contain her excitement." -- his name, where he lives, his age-- whaaat?"

Vivian grinned, knowing she couldn't keep her bestfriend from asking. Oh! how she just love that Nicole could get this much excited for her, she's the bestest friend one could ever have!

"well.." she started "He said his name was Nathan -- quote-unquote, 21, in his junior year in college and lives in another country."

"ooohh.." Nicole rolled her eyes in - what seemed to be like - amazement.

"oh yes! haha!" Vivian laughed slightly. she knew so well what was running through her bestfriend's thoughts. "so, shush with your daydreaming -- he is not and will never be!" -- did she just sigh in disappointment?--what?! really, now?? "i don't even know this guy- haha!" she told herself. and yes, she was a little amused.
