Chapter 4

"O - M - G! -- that's him?!!!" -- Nicole was practically screaming when Vivian showed her a picture of Nathan.

"ssshhh!!! Nicole?! can you please lower your voice?" she pleaded smiling. "it's like you want to tell everybody." she was just kidding, she knew her bestfriend so well. She knows that whatever secret she told Nicole will always be kept secret from the others.

"But seriously now, Viv, he's really gorgeous! -- I mean not that I'm into him... but you would both look perfect!" Nicole said with a huge smile. "I am soooo happy for you Viv!" and she hugged her so tight that told Vivian how much her bestfriend really felt that moment.

"Thanks, Nicole!" she just smiled half-heartedly.

Vivian had been thinking about what she found out and it made her somehow sad because she realized how impossible it would be for him to like her back once he saw how she looked like or how different their lives were.

"hey! why the long-face?" Nicole knew her so well that she immediately noticed the sadness in her smile.

"oh nothing... it's just that i realize now that it would never be possible for a guy like him to like me back" she replied with a heavy sigh.

"You know, you still haven't met each other yet to be even saying that... relax! who knows he might really be interested in you." Nicole said trying to cheer her up.

"Viv, you are a very beautiful person inside and out and besides, if he really likes you, it wouldn't matter even if he would have been Brad Pitt or Ashton Kutcher! what matters is that, he said he likes you, right?"

"Oh Nicole, i really don't know... but thanks! you really are my bestfriend!" Vivian finally smiled and hugged her.

"Hey!" -- it was Nathan.

She felt her heart skip a beat as she picked up her phone.

"Hey there!" she replied.

"Did you miss me?" he asked.

what?!seriously?? -- she thought. please don't!

"haha! why would i miss you?" -- she was testing the waters.

the reply she got was an emoticon that was sad..

oh..was he upset? -- she thought to herself.

"just kidding, of course i did!" was all she could say.

"yay!" --his response.. and a lot of smiley.

ahh... she felt good! felt good because he seemed to be happy that she missed him. did he really like me that much?

it was like He was reading her mind because his next message was...

"I thought about you the whole time i was in school. I was afraid you'd forget about me."

-- her question seemed to have the reply she needed.

"did you ever wonder why i spent most of my time chatting with you, too?" she asked nervously...

"yeah... and i think maybe you just feel obliged to reply?" he answered, asking her too.

"of course not! did it ever occur to you that i might like you too?" her heart was beating fast...

"you do too??? really?? i mean you like me too???" was his quick response.

she felt like her heart was jumping up and down that moment.

long-silence followed... she did not know what to say or how to say it either.

after what seemed like forever, she heard her phone ring --- oh dear! what on earth should i do now? she thought...

she slowly picked-up her phone and read his message...

Nathan sent an image.
