New Start

They moved the boxes into the new place.
New start.
He stood with his hands on his hips, looking out at the busy traffic beyond the window. He grinned as his mum brought in the last box, breathing heavily as she dumped it on the new kitchen bench.
New start.
"That's all the stuff." She said, joining him.
"You like it?"
"It's pretty great." He admitted.
He'd learn how to drive on these roads.
New car.
He'd go to school via these roads.
New school.
He'd go to work via these roads.
New job.
He breathed deeply and turned to his mum.
"I'll start unpacking," she started, "you go and get some dinner. I picked up a brochure for fast food places. Theres a nice Indian place a few blocks down." She handed him a fifty dollar note. "Don't be out too long, I'll get worried, and don't take any short cuts. I'll get worried."
He laughed and kissed her on the cheek.
"Cool, see you in twenty, maybe half an hour." He grabbed his phone and tucked it into his pocket, before grabbing his camera and putting the strap around his neck, leaving the apartment.
