She was founded by the police by the age of 8 and she was taken but to her family. She's lived with them since then.

The Lover of the Beast (Peter Hale): Ria Finstock has come to Beacon to live with her brother Coach Bobby Finstock, she knew the supernatural exists because a werewolf had killed her and Bobby's parents, so after that she decided to become a hunter, luckily her parents were hunters which was the reason they were killed and she knew some hunters who could help teach her the way of the hunter. Thankfully Bobby left before the attack so he doesn't know the supernatural exists and he could live a normal life. But all that changed when she met the 1 person who could change her opinion and her ways.

When she got there she was arrested, and when Sheriff Stilinski asked about her parents she said she didn't have any, but she said that her aunt was at home and that she has a heart problem so she doesn't move and Nadia does the work for her but that was a lie, when Sheriff Stilinski let her go she ran straight to her treehouse that she was living but she didn't know that Stiles and Scott was following her. They wanted to make sure she was safe. Scott had this feeling that she wasn't safe, when they found out that she lived in a tree house they felt bad for her, so Scott climbed up and knocked on the door at the bottom. This was the beginning to a beautiful friendship and more.
