Chapter 1 (A few days before the prologue)

Akhilan POV

I woke up to the disturbing sound of my phone and picked it up from the side table.  My right hand man informed me a piece of news which shocked me to the core, the person we were  hiding from the world has been taken away from us.

Our enemies took the person away from right under our nose and injured some of our trusted men. I got down from my bed and started strolling trying to think of solutions so that we can save that person.

I dialled a number and the ACP of our area picked up in a minute

ACP: Hello Mr. Akhilan, anything I can do for you ?

His voice gave out the respect and a bit of fear he had for Akhilan 

Akhilan: The person we have been keeping has been taken away from right under our nose. Can you believe that ? If it has happened then it means one of our own man has talked unnessarily to our enemy. I need the call details, location details, bank details and their family details in my hand in an hour. I need to find that sad excuse of that man

ACP: Okay Akhilan .. Will do 

Akhilan threw his phone on bed and ran his hand through his wavy, silky brownish black hair. He went off to brush his teeth and looked at himself in the mirror. From a naive innocent boy he had turned into a shrewed business man who is too deep into the dark world around him. He washed his face to clear out the tiredness as he only got 4 hours of sleep last night.

He did not mind putting his shirt on and walked to his brother's room in his pants giving a show to the women workers around. They all gaped at the perfection in front of them but they would not dare to show that as he can be very intimidating.

He punched his fingerprint to his brother's room and got into his bedroom. His younger brother was spawled on his bed with his mouth open sleeping without a care in the world.  For a second he felt guilty to wake him up but he had too.

He poured a mug of water on his brother and he woke up with a start looking lost. When he saw his brother he smiled

Akshat: Bro, whats up ?

Akhilan: We have a rat 

The tone and the underlying meaning hit Akshat and he frowned 

Akshat: What happened ?

Akhilan: She is missing 

Akshat realized what they were talking about and got down from his bed. Bro, give me few minutes and I will meet you at the breakfast table. Akhilan nodded and walked back to his room. He showered, sprayed on some of his cologne and sat down at the breakfast table, although with all the chaos around he was cool as cucumber as he was sure he would find the rat. In a few minutes Akshat joined the table too after which the dad joined them.

Mr. Subramaniam looked old, serious and sad day by day. It was like watching a person who lost their everything although having anything at their disposal

Akshat: Good Morning Appa

His smile made a hint of a smile appear on his dad face too and he nodded but never replied. Akshat started chattering to get a reply out of his dad while he only got a few words out Akhilan ate his breakfast without any hope.

The staff watched both the brothers

While Akhilan was calm, quiet without a hint of a smile, ofcourse handsome but scary too Akshat was sweet, nice, talkative but both have one thing in common they both can be very scary if needed and they both are extremely handsome in their own way ...

After the breakfast both the brothers walked into his office

Akhilan waited for his trusted manager Tarun Singh but he never appeared like he always did, he called the Personnel department and enquired about his right hand man but he was told they were not able to reach him and neither was he responding to their queries.

When he called and messaged his man he got nothing. He messaged his details to the ACP and he went to check his home which was locked. Akhilan was told he left yesterday evening with his lugguage and never came back after that

Akshat took the initiative to call the ACP now. He was angry that somebody betrayed them as all the signs told the same thing 

Akshat: ACP Sir, we want all the details of his family and where are they located as soon as possible.  

Akshat cut the call and looked at Akhilan they both nodded and drove off as they have finally spotted the rat - Tarun Singh
