It was only when Lian Wei was being led to a palanquin, and two heavy-built men who seemed to be his guards from their over donned outfits suddenly rushed to him with both shock and worry on their faces, did he learned that he was not the only one who knew that there had been someone who sneaked into the original Lian Wei's bedroom last night.

Apparently, they had previously suspected a certain servant who rushed out of his bedroom and had his head bowed which they had found odd. However, when one of the two guards roughly pulled the suspicious male servant and inquired him, it appears.... that he was hurrying to the bathroom.

They let the servant go after that, although a part of them was still suspicious of the servant, but when they had walked cautiously towards the window to check out for Lian Wei, they saw him cooing his baby to sleep so they quickly let go of their worry and returned to their stationed area.

Lian Wei suddenly wanted to laugh, but that would seem uncharacteristic of him as the original never laughs at all, so he only reassured the guards that they were both okay, throwing them a smile at least.

"But, Consort Lian.... What did that servant come to you for?" One of the guards was still feeling unreconciled. Actually, they've never seen that boy around until last night, so there's no way they wouldn't feel suspicious. On the other hand, he may be a new servant who was recently turned in and they hadn't just been informed yet.

Lian Wei gave them a small smile, "Your intuitions were right. He did come to poison me last night."

This resulted a synchronized light gasps from the two.

He fell silent for a while, recalling the supposed scenery from last night which he viewed from the original Lian Wei's memories, then he opened his mouth again, "He did seem new," he couldn't help nodding his head, "But if there happened to be a new servant who should be appointed to me, I could've been the first person they informed. Apparently, no one told me yet, and until now, the housekeeper hasn't approached me yet to talk about this matter. And what do you think that boy, who's supposed to be my new servant, did as soon as he entered?"

The two guards silently stared at him, waiting for Consort Lian to continue.

"He could've introduced himself to me first right?" Lian Wei lightly smiled, "Whoever that boy is, he just silently entered my room without saying anything to me, offered me a drink before he bowed and hurriedly left."

He is still wondering how the renowned passer of the imperial exam would be easily fooled by a kid who did the bare minimum of poisoning him? Apparently, what he's currently spouting here, the male servant did just that. What was Lian Wei thinking? Well the other day before that, he passed by his elder brother who whispered him a curse directed to his child, which Lian Wei was not sure whether Lian Wei had been affected by his brother or not. But he probably did.

Lian Wei had watched the entire performance of this boy unfolding as Lian Wei was able to view it from the memories. Only, he seemed like he didn't care or he had been lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice a suspicious person had already infiltrated his bedroom, since he did nothing but avoid drinking the poisoned tea; even if it was already so obvious.

Did he actually not care? Did he just let that suspicious boy unprofessionally poison him?

"This must've been his first errand. He seemed nervous, though he smoothly lied to you two, but who wouldn't be suspicious of that boy? He still..... failed to fool me."

As soon as he, while carrying baby Yujun in his arms, rode the palanquin and sat on it, he only realized he was actually being taken to somewhere and he absolutely had no idea about.
