AUTHOR's POV:

In a hidden research facility located deep within a dense forest, a young boy was born into captivity along with a few others. From the moment he opened his eyes, his life was very different. Unlike other children, he had no loving parents to care for him, no friends to play with, and no memories of a life beyond the steel walls that surrounded him.

This little boy, aka Z2.O, had been chosen as a subject for a highly secretive and controversial experiment known as the "Home Sweet Home."The project's objective was to explore the complexities of human behaviour and the human mind by linking individuals with their soulmates.

According to the researchers, understanding human behaviour hinges on the connections formed between soulmates. To support their theory, they claimed that when a person reaches a certain age, the name of their soulmate will appear on their wrist in bold, dark letters, indicating a strong bond between them.

"Is this true?" Z2.O asked with his full moon eyes. "Will the tattoo appear on its own?"

"That's what the professor said," the young man replied with a giggle. "You seem pretty excited about the soulmate thing," he added while looking at Z2.O's expression.

"Of Course I am..." His eyes glistened. "An orphan like me will finally have a family."

"Hey, didn't I tell you not to say those things again? You have us... w-we are your family." Z2.O couldn't speak, his once-glistened eyes burst into tears.

Z2.O's captors were relentless in their pursuit of scientific knowledge. They subjected him to endless tests, experiments, and observations, all in the name of science. He grew up isolated from the outside world, knowing nothing of the warmth of the sun or the gentle touch of a breeze.

As time went by, Z2.O turned eighteen and it was time for him to receive the name of his soulmate on his hand. He had seen this process being conducted on others in the facility, but he had never been allowed to speak to them, nor did he know their names.

The researcher prepared the helmet with piles of codes attached to Z2.O's head, his heart raced with anticipation and fear. The cold metal touched his skin, and a strong scene of silence engulfed his ears.

He closed his eyes to meet darkness and then heard his heartbeat rise. Wait... not one but two, beating rhythmically, almost like one.

Once the inked name became visible on his palm, he felt a strange, tingling sense of connection, as if the last piece of his puzzle had fallen into place. When the sound stops, he looks down at his now inked palm screaming a name. The name filled him with hope, but it was a fleeting emotion.
