"Are we there yet?"

"Not yet, Taiyo. Be patient."

__________

"Are we there yet?"

"Not yet. Soon."

__________

"Are we there y-" The teenage boy's question was abruptly cut off by his twin sister.

"Taiyo, you have asked that once every few minutes since we left the airport." Mizuki began. "Can you please shut. The fuck. Up." A purr of agreement was heard from chirp, the Kantonian meowth that rested in Mizuki's lap. "I'm trying to sleep at least a little bit."

"Not my fault you were up all night."

"Oh yeah, because you definitely weren't snoring right next to me on an overnight flight."

"You say that as though I was trying to keep you up"

"Kids," their mother finally cut through the bickering. " We're here."

Taiyo practically leapt out of the car, falling flat on his face when he did. Mizuki tried (and failed) to hold back a snort as he let out a muffled 'MOTHERFUCKER'. She moved chirp from her lap, allowing the meowth to roam ahead towards the house, and got out of the car.

"You alright?" She extended her arm to her brother and swiftly pulled him up.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"No chipped teeth or anything?"

"Nah, hurt like a bitch though." Taiyo looked up at the building in front of them, and made an attempt to whistle. "Wow."

Mizuki just nodded. She didn't really know enough about architecture to give any input that wasn't just Oh cool, but it was a big building. It looked to be about three stories plus an attic, excluding the possibility of a basement. It was only a moment of silence before she spoke again, however.

"Last one in closes the door." And she was off. She was really hoping the extra running had paid off, because her brother catching up to her would typically result with her in a— she yelped.

Chokehold.

Mizuki struggled for air for just a few moments, before stopping. She realized that if she went limp, and was still long enough, Taiyo would either panic, and let go of her, or just drop her because he didn't think she was a threat. As she suspected, he dropped her momentarily, and then took off.

Or, at least he tried too, given that Mizuki grabbed his ankle and pulled back, getting up and continuing to run herself, while he hit the ground.

She just barely made it to the door before him. She leaned against the wall to catch her breath.

"Wow, you're out of breath already? You're getting worse at this."

"Or maybe, just maybe- No clue if this has any merit whatsoever," Mizuki took a deep breath and continued. "It has something to do with me being choked."

"Yeah, yeah." Mizuki stopped for a moment. She then stepped through the front door.

"I'm the first one in."

"Shit." Mizuki chuckled and continued further into the house, not bothering to turn on the lights since there was plenty of natural light coming through the windows. Taiyo followed close behind, grabbing her hand, and leading, or more accurately dragging, her to a large room with a bay window that overlooked the beach that was also part of the property. "This is our living room, isn't this cool!?"
