19. shark

theres about 10 minutes until i have to leave to meet my friends at the beach. its also been about a week since the hug with mason in my bedroom.

its been kind of awkward but hopefully this will make us forget about that. jaeden, sadie, louis, mason, maddy and i were going. it was going to be fun, i haven't seen maddy in forever. she is the sweetest.

"i love the beach," i admitted, lying my stuff out on the sand.

"me too," maddy cheered, placing her things next to me.

sadie put her things next to me on the opposite side of maddy. mason, jaeden, and louis threw their things and ran towards the water and splashed each other like little boys.

i rolled my eyes, propping my sunglasses on my head. i watched the boys act like 3 year olds with my hands on my hips.

i shielded my eyes with my hand from the sun as i shook my head, lying down on my towel. as i laid out for a while, starting to drift off, maddy woke me dead up.

"liv look!" she laughed, pointing towards the water.

i sat up and found where maddy was pointing. right at mason, laying flat, face down right at the shore. the waves splashed over him.

sadie cackled, "what is he doing?"

"no idea!" maddy snorted.

the other boys looked as though they were paying no attention to mason.

"he isn't moving," i mumbled, covering my mouth with my hand a bit.

"what?" sadie said back.

"i said he isn't moving!" i said more stern, quickly getting up and jogging towards mason.

i ran up to him and bent down, tapping his shoulder.

"mason?" i asked loudly, the rest of the boys way off in the water now.

no response. he didn't move a muscle.

"mason!" i kind of yelled, almost smacking his bare back with my hand.

still no answer.

i flipped mason over with all the strength i had and saw his eyes were closed. unconscious? thats when i looked down. blood pouring out of his leg.

i screamed bloody murder.

"help! help!" i shouted, looking in the direction of the girls and the boys.

they all ran towards us. how didn't i notice the blood at first? how am i so stupid.

"what happened?" jaeden shouted, trudging through the water with louis.

"mason's bleeding out! call an ambulance sadie!" i yelled to them as they ran towards us.

sadie and maddy came up to mason on the ground and maddy screamed too. blood was still pouring out of his leg. the boys came up to us too and bent down by mason with me.

"mase get up!" i yelled, shaking him, "sadie call a fucking ambulance!"

jaeden and louis picked up mason together and dragged him to where our stuff was.

"lay him down on my towel," i told them, tears starting to come down my cheeks.

they carefully set mason down on my towel and sadie got off the phone with the paramedics.

"they're on their way," she said, us all over mason.

"mason get up!" louis shouted, shaking him.

mason's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"oh my gosh mason!" i cried, slightly smiling that he was alive.

his eyes widened as he scanned all of our faces.

"t-the shark, it-it pulled me under," he stuttered.

"how the hell was there a shark this close to shore?" jaeden said.

"it's ok mase, the ambulance is on it's way," i said through tears.

"thank god you're alive," maddy said.

"paramedics, out of the way!" someone shouted.

we all got away from mason. sadie and maddy hugged as they watched them start to help mason. i sobbed and backed up a bit, letting the professionals do their thing. louis wrapped his arms around me and i cried into his chest. he shielded me from looking at mason any longer

of all times, and people, this happens to mason. i hope he gets better soon. would he be able to walk? would he have a giant scar? i hate sharks.

A/N so i needed something really exotic to happen to spice things up and i didn't have any other ideas, so we went with shark attack 😭💀

P.S. mason will probably not be ok
