I struggled to knock on Alya's door with my dress in one hand and my bag and phone in the other. I heard a bang come from the other side of the door.
"You're here!" Alya squealed as she opened the door and guided me inside. Her hair was already done in a beautiful bun with a braid wrapped around it and she had already finished her makeup. It made me feel underdressed, I had only curled my hair.
We had two hours until the dance and I was excited.. for the most part. I couldn't help but think of Chat Noir. I spent all day replaying him leaving me as Ladybug but then going to me as Marinette right after. Would he ever talk to me again? What would happen if someone got akumatized? So many questions.
"Girl I love your nails! Did you just get them done?" Alya looked down at my freshly coated pink nails.
"Thank you! I got them done earlier." I smiled and set my dress down on her bed.
"What time are the boys showing up?" I puckered my lips and coated them with a sparkly lip gloss.
"They said that they'd be here in an hour but Nino is early to everything so we should try to be ready within 45 minutes." Alya picked up her dress and took it off the hanger.
"45 minutes?!" I exclaimed, quickly picking my dress too.
"Calm down, all we need to do is put on our dresses and jewelry then we'll be done!" I closed my eyes as she began to change.
"Can you zip the back up?" She asked. I walked over to her and zipped up the back of her dress, admiring her.
"You look amazing!" I stared at the way her peach pink dressed captured her curves perfectly, like it was designed just for her. Her skirt fell straight down to the floor and the sleeveless top did her chest an incredible amount of justice.
"Your turn!" She clapped her hands together.
I picked up my dress and began to change into it. Even though I hate admitting it, I wanted to look my best for Adrien.
"How does it look?" I gulp as Alya stared at me in amazement.
"Amazing! This is the perfect dress for you!" She giggled, hugging me.
"Thank you!" I gleamed, walking to Alya to tie up the back of my corset.
"Bet you're excited to see Adrien tonight, huh?" She tugged the ribbons of the corset causing me to let out a grunt.
"Yeah.. But we're just friends. It's nothing romantic whatsoever." I said nervously.
"Riiight." Alya muttered under her breath.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
"Oh my god, they're here already?!" I panicked, quickly hiding behind Alya.
"Why are you so nervous?" She smirked, walking toward the door. I signaled with my hands for her not to open the door but obviously she did it anyway. Adrien and Nino stood in the door each holding a bouquet. Nino was holding a bouquet of red roses while Adrien was holding one with pink tulips.
"Aww Nino!" Alya hugged onto Nino happily as I glanced at Adrien.
His suit was luxurious. It was all black except for his white collar shirt and pink tie.
"Adrien these are beautiful.." I smiled, taking the flowers out of his hands.
"You look amazing." He stared at me in awe which made me blush. He gently picked up my hand and planted a soft kiss on it.
"Are you ladies ready to go?" Nino impatiently stood in the doorway, still holding onto Alya's flowers.
"Almost! Me and Marinette just have to get our heels from my room but we'll be right back." Alya grasped onto my arm and dragged me back into her room, slamming the door behind her.
"He kissed you on the hand! And bought you flowers!" She cheered, jumping up and down.
"Alya stop! They'll hear you!" I wanted to be serious, but I couldn't help but giggle like an idiot. I didn't wanna get excited over Adrien doing that! I want Chat and only Chat!
"All the signals are there, Mari! He likes you!" She winked as she strapped her heels on.
"No! He likes someone else! He told me!" I slip on my heels as well while angrily eyeing her the whole time.
"Yeah right." She scoffed.
We both struggled to stand up after putting on the heels. We had to cling onto each other in order to get up.
"I hate heels." I groaned, stumbling out the door of her bedroom. I tried getting the hang of walking in them but instead fell right into Adrien.
"I'm sorry!" I blurted. He held me against his chest and let out a laugh.
"It's okay. Do you need help walking to the car?" He held out his arm for me to hold onto. I nodded and intertwined my arm with his.

Once we made it out to the car, we realized it wasn't just any car, it was a limo.
"Oh my god!" Alya cheered at the sight of it. Nino opened the door for her and let her climb in.
Adrien did the same for me, except we sat in the row behind Alya and Nino.
"This is a beautiful limo, Adrien." I ran my hand over the pure white seats with amazement.
"Yeah, it's my father's. This is my favorite out of our collection." He took a sip from the water bottle that sat in the cup holder next to him.
"Collection? You have a collection of limos?" I exclaimed in complete shock. I knew Adrien was rich, but having a bunch of limos? That's something I wouldn't have expected.
"Yup, my father thought a car would be much too boring for such a monumental night." He replied.
"Hm." I let out awkwardly.
It remained silent for a moment before Adrien randomly let out a gasp:
"Oh! I almost forgot!"
He reached in his jacket pocket and pulled out a beautiful vintage velvet box.
"This is my present to you." He placed the box in my hands with a smile.
I looked at him and then back down at the expensive looking box in my hands. I opened it to reveal a gorgeous diamond necklace. I was so shocked that I couldn't speak.
"Adrien, I cant accept this." I gently picked it up from the box and held it in my hands as carefully as if it were a newborn child.
"My father gifted it to my mother for their prom, I'm following tradition. It will look beautiful on you." He picked up the necklace from my hands and pushed my hair aside, placing the necklace around my neck.
"Thank you." I hugged him tightly. He definitely wasn't expecting it, but he hugged back anyway.
"Hey Adrien?" I mumbled, still hugging him.
"Mhm?" He replied.
"What happened to the girl you told me about?" I asked.
He went quiet for a moment.
"I cut things off with her." He replied softly.
"What about the boy you told me about?" He moved his head so that he was looking at my face. We were only a few inches apart. I felt a heat travel through my body which was followed by an urge to move closer to him.
"He cut things off with me." I whispered as he tilted his head slightly.
"Hm." He started inching toward me and I inched toward him too.
"We're here!" Alya's shriek quickly caused me and Adrien to shove ourselves away from each other. I felt a blush falling over my cheeks and my hands shake as I hopped out of the car as quickly as possible.
"What'd you guys talk about on the ride here? Me and Nino were too distracted by the radio to eavesdrop." Alya nudged me on the arm.
"Nothing." Me and Adrien said in unison.
"Okay then.." Alya let out a quick laugh and then continued to walk in front of us with Nino.
Me and Adrien awkwardly linked arms once again as we entered the decorated hall of a luxurious hotel just outside of Paris. The dance floor was huge, there were tables of all sorts of foods, and there were photo booths as well as a karaoke corners.
"Me and Nino are going to go chat with Alix about some drama that happened between her and Nathaniel. You two have fun." Alya and Nino prance off leaving me and Adrien alone together. Me and him find a table to sit down at and glance around at everyone.
"Can we talk about what happened in the car?" I sigh nervously.
"Mari, there's something I need to tell you before we talk about that." Adrien looks at me with a sincere glare in his eyes.
"Okay, what is it?" I mutter as suddenly the music changes to a popular slow dance song. I wasn't expecting them to play such a romantic song so early on into the night but I look to him to see his reaction to it.
"Shall we dance first?" He asks softly, I nod. He takes my hand and guides me to the dance floor. We begin elegantly swaying and rocking to the music. Although most girls have their shoulders on their date's shoulder, me and Adrien hold eye contact as we dance. We stay like that for a few moments. Our eyes locked, our movements synced, and our heartbeats racing. I got flashbacks to the party with Chat, the night I told him I loved him for the first time. I can tell Adrien is in some sort of memory lane as well as he looks a bit zoned out. Suddenly, he leans in to whisper in my ear.
"I know who you are." He mumbles, his breath hot on my skin.
"What?" I murmur taken aback by his suddenness.
"Ladybug." He lets out a huff as I pull away and stare at him with a baffled look.
"No.." I shake my head as I think back to the interaction I had with Chat the night before. I think of how I revealed my identity without even truly doing so. This leads me to reach one conclusion. The only possible conclusion on how he could've possibly obtained that information. I stare at him as the realization finally punches me in the face.
"Chat Noir."
